Amazing Race - New Season 02/23/14

That was the biggest backdoor victory of all time (amirite?)

But good for them. I was just glad I didn't have to sweat out the final episode with those awful twins still in the mix. My wife and I cheered so loudly when the Beekmans showed up at the mat in France before them. I wanted the Chippendales to win, but they won some nice prizes (as did Texas), so I was alright with the Beekman's winning. I hope they rubbed it in to the twins a little bit more after they won.

I did like the difficulty too of the final challenges and that it didn't turn into another "whoever gets off the plane first wins the money" situation like it has been for the last few seasons.

Definitely agree with this too.

Did anyone else notice how much Abby and Ryan were jumping up and down and cheering when the Beekmans came in for the win? Obviously short of them actually winning themselves, having the Beekmans win must've been the biggest vindication for those two.

For those that don't know, there is a Febuary AR next year. Hope CBS goes back to the 2 a year like in the past.
 
This year's contestants are about as normal as you could expect. They have the token hillbilly couple, but no physically disabled couple, no openly gay couple, and no punk-rock wierdo couple. And the only "celebrities" they have are totally not annoying yet. This seems like it will be a fun season.

The results last night were a little surprising, but I won't post anything about that because I don't totally understand the rules about posting spoilers and I don't want to spoil the fun for anyone.
 
The Alabama dude's mullet is........breathtaking. He can afford to be mighty proud.
 
The firefighters were pretty country.

The one country singer has some bombs.

There are a few teams that look like they could be pretty annoying out of the gate - the newlyweds and the Youtube sensations.
 
I do like the hockey bros. only cause one played for the Canes.
 
In trouble already with my picks, it seems. Took the father/son as my primary and the firefighters as my backup. I think the casting isn't too bad, though the Youtube team looks like they will be supremely annoying, and it will be funny to watch the newlywed team continue to fail while they think they are so much smarter than the rest of the teams.
 
I hate the newlyweds. I don't trust a short dude that tans.
 
I ended up with hockey players, newly weds, roller derby moms and twin doctors. Chic got father/son, firefighters, country singers and dating Californians.

Everything's better when you're gambling on it.

Newlyweds are supposed to be the "evil" couple according to an interview with Phil, which could be cool if they manage to make everyone think they are actually nice. Only team I'm tired of already are Youtube. Country hillbillies I do not care for due to the ridiculous amount of dead animals they have in their home. I understand hunting has a time and place but that is ridiculous, especially hunting some non-traditional game animals.
 
No comments yet on a team getting eliminated while holding an express pass? No idea what they were thinking, not sad to see them gone though the guy was annoying.
 
That guy seemed oddly delusional. They definitely made some big mistakes on that leg. The fruit thing didn't look THAT hard. Loved Phil's response at the end.
