Re: Brees v. Cousins - all the stats in the world can tell you Cousins over Brees on the road, but do you really want to be benching the Breesus in the Fantasy Super Bowl?

I hate this logic.

You put the team out there that you think has the best chance of winning you your match up. If you think someone else will outperform Brees, then play that person. People who say "well, at least I can say I started my studs," are the people who just lost their match up. LOSERS!

Other than to Brees 2 weeks ago, Carolina has not given up more than 18 points to a QB. And they give up < 10 ppg at home.

We let up big passing numbers to everyone, so why not the Redskins shit QB?

Cousins will throw for 400 in this game I think. Starting Garcon, obvi.

I dont have that many tough decisions to make, but if Welker is back I may have to choose between:

Welker vs HOU
Amendola vs BAL

Also between:

KC vs IND
SF vs ATL (mon night)

Almost impossible to bench KC, although McCluster might be out again. Both at home. ATL looked pretty awful last week.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest you've been known to overthink your lineup choices before.

I have 4 drop/add requests in before my championship game and I would very well start all 4. Have done it with smoke and mirrors this year.

I rode Kurt Warner to the finals the year he had mondo numbers for the Cards and then sat him in the finals because he was playing at NE in the snow and started Rotheslberger (sp?) instead. Agonized over it. Warner ended up with 1 point and that move won me the title.

Ugh. I started Warner in that game. IIRC, Brady (or Cassel) was not effected by the snow at all and NE crushed them. It was why I couldn't take ARI seriously when they played the Panthers in the playoffs. Double ugh.

It's the same mindset that keeps most coaches from taking bigger risks.

Partly true.

Difference is coaches have to be responsible for their actions to the owner, the press, the fans, etc. If the coach makes the safe choice that 9/10 coaches would have made, and it doesn't work out, well who can blame him.

Say a coach makes a move that he knows will work 60% of the time, but appears to the fans and media and everyone else to be a stupid move, and it doesn't work out, his job could be on the line.

Fantasy Football doesn't have those outside variables.

Want to talk about "overthinking" a lineup? Familiar with FanDuel or other weekly salary cap style league?

We built a model that draws from a variety of projections to create the optimal team at each salary cap offering. We then toggle the most volatile players to increase our variance while still ensuring our projected points is near max.

Been quite the profitable endeavor.

My lineup looks like this, right now:

QB: Tom Brady
RB: Jamaal Charles
RB: Andre Brown
WR: Dez Bryant
WR: ???
TE: ???
WR/RB: DeMarco Murray
K: Mason Crosby
D: Pittsburgh

Who should I start at WR and TE? Below are the options:

WR:
Steve Smith
Michael Crabtree
Rod Streater.
Tim Wright

TE:
Tim Wright
Cody Fleener
Garrett Graham
(Gronk died.)

So ... yes?

hahahhahahaha. Why stop at 6?

Do teams 7 and 8 get participation trophies to keep their spirits up?

Haha, yeah almost as bad as hockey. We have had 10 or 12 in past years but only 8 signed up this year. Next year you should join us and see if you can knock me off the top spot. I have won 2 out the last 3 years and am in the finals with a decent chance to win this year. I'm also in the finals in my big money league.

Rainey, Ridley, Tate or DeAngelo Williams as my 3rd back in the championship game?

Dealing with Ellington (@ SEA), Sproles (@ CAR), or Woodhead (v. OAK) in my final spot in our PPR league. Trying to research snap count % and everything because it seems all three are only on the field 40% of the time. All have terrible matchups since AE and DS play against great D's, and Woodhead might be on the sideline while Mathews beats up the OAK D. Will prob start Ellington.

Kurt Cousins right now is only owned in 4.4% of ESPN leagues. I snapped him up and put him right in the starting lineup. My QBs have been a weak link all year.

Snapped up Cousins off the wire... now comes 3 days of deciding if I am really going to play him over Drew fucking Brees this week.

I'd probably go with Rainey. Deangelo could be a good play since he has good games against the Saints usually. I doubt Tate will be used a whole bunch especially if Houston gets down and quick to Denver. NE does musical chairs with their RB's and Blount has been getting goal line carries.

I did the same but I have Jay Cutler. I'm hesitant to play Cousins but I also know that it's Jay fucking Cutler.
