Did [Redacted] delay the inevitable for a year?

That's where you're wrong. UNC is a bad team who plays good teams well.
 
Everyone was saying this stuff after the Miami game last year and then Buzz tanked the season. I can't root against Wake, but I have no confidence Buzz won't tank the rest of the season. And he can't afford it this year. Someone earlier posted that this was more about the Holes playing badly...I agree. They were horrid. For Wake to do that poorly off the boards and from the foul line and still win...unreal....our players gave a ton of effort but make no mistake, UNC shit the bed.
 
I just looked on Inside Carolina for the first time. It's f'ing hilarious. They are in complete meltdown mode after last night.

Well it's true. If I were a Carolina fan I'd almost be as embarrassed as we are about the state of the basketball program.

He has some sort of personality disorder or autism. I really believe it. On camera he is impossible to watch or listen to. My wife, who could give two shits about Wake basketball, saw the halftime interview and said "Dear God, is that your coach?" (Sigh) Yes....

Good stuff. Hopefully nothing changes. There is some talent on this roster for the new coach.
 
Hopefully it'll be like the Colorado situation where he leaves and the new guy comes in and really raises everything with his energy and ability to connect with the players. Boyle has the Buffs in the top 25 and they beat previously undefeated Oregon yesterday. Ready to see our program in the rankings every week again.

This is what I have believed for some time. Ron does not have to admit his mistake, but gets to make a change. [Redacted] gets some modest success this year and Ron points to it as part of his long term plan. Then he goes out and hires a real coach.
 
Last night reminded me how much I missed having a good basketball team to cheer for from the end of football season till the end of March. I still think Buzz's ceiling is just making the NCAA, but my gut tells me RW uses this and a couple other wins to give buzz an extension at the end of the year.

Remember RW's definition of success is - off the court, the players represent Wake Forest well and on the court, we win the games we should and upset the UNC's and Duke's occasionally. RW is LOWF

Yeah, and that Miami win was the one thing RW could cling to to bring the fucker back for this season despite the tanked season. As soon as that game last night ended I started getting texts from alumni of other schools congratulating me on locking in 3 more years of [Redacted] and thanking us on behalf of all bubble teams for leaving a spot open in the tourny for the next few years.
 
Apparently one reason bzzz looks so clueless, by his own admission, is that he doesn't read the paper, watch the news, check out the internet, etc (not that I believe that for one second.)

The line from his post-game interview where he started to answer the third question, paused, and then interjected "WAKE FOREST NATION!" was perhaps the most stunning display of awkwardness ever captured on camera.

And agree that this game doesn't really mean anything one way or another with respect to Jeff's job security. We already knew he's capable of stealing the occasional win at home over a ranked opponent; that was last year. This year is about winning ACC road games and qualifying for some sort of post-season tournament. If he doesn't do that, he should be encouraged to resign.
