Student Section

I don't know... the Wake student section from the mid 90's until about 4 years ago was pretty great, at least when it came to ACC games. The only gimmick they had was the Freakin Deacons early on, who just wore different shirts. [Redacted]'s Barnyard is not only embarrassing, but also nonsensical.

Please lets not perpetuate the myth that this is a decent turnout - especially as it compares to pre-Buzz.

Do realize that about 25% of that student section is the band
 
Some of this dressing up in costumes is carry-over from HS football games- I've noticed that being a trend in HS. Lots of costumes, theme nights, etc.

If it's fun and it gets students in the seats, great. We still don't have as many weirdos as Cameron, and our students don't need to wear masks to hide their ugliness like the 'Cameron Crazies" (who aren't really crazy at all- just ridiculous and ugly).

As awful as Bzz is, the players still deserve support from their peers. They are busting their asses out there.

Also- I'll take a bunch of goofy costumes over pastels and bow-ties anytime.
 
I thought we already covered that Bdzelik's Barnyard is a bunch of frat dudes who are hammered. I don't remember exactly who it is but I know at least for a while it was Kappa Sig two years back.
 
Who cares if they're hammered. Getting drunk at Putters then going to the game is the shit.

Oh I don't think anybody cares that they're hammered. Who didn't drink before going to the game? I was just pointing out that it might explain why they're there in animal costumes.

The band is half of the middle section in that picture. There are 4 other lower level sections of students, plus several upper level sections that were about half full. So the band is more like 5% of the student section.

There have been other gimmicks besides the Freakin Deacons. Do you remember the group of students that dressed in gold robes several years ago? How about the velociraptors? The Dino costume?

How many people are in the pep band these days? 50? I honestly don't know.

Let's say it's 50. By your numbers, that would mean 1,000 students are showing up to the games nowadays. I don't think there's any way that's correct.
 
Remember when that dude dressed up in a top hat, cape, and had a cane or some shit? That guy sucked.
