Political Compass

Whoa. You went from a NC right of center Republican to a Northeastern Liberal in about 2 years.

That's nothing. You went from a NC moderate to flaming liberal in one election year. :D

Economic Left/Right: 1.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26

Swung a bit left lately have we 923? In a mere 6 months you have jumped 4 points to the liberal side of economics. What gives?

She basically nails our political system 65 years prior to it coming full bloom. She even uses the exact words of "pay your fair share" for the antagonist. It was actually fairly humorous reading the book in the midst of an election cycle of an acolyte (Paul Ryan) and a candidate whose rhetoric so perfectly fit rand's worst nightmare (Obama). She kind of nailed the political battle that was to come a long time before that battle was in full swing.

Still think she comes to the wrong conclusions a lot of the time but she definitely perceived the political battle to come.

We handed the keys to an Ayn Rand disciple who couldn't see the forest for the trees and we all got fucked.

In case anyone is interested the scores for the 40 people who have responded to the OP is:

Median:
-1.94 Economy
-3.29 Social

Mean:
-1.44 Economy
-3.12 Social

Indicating a strong consistent liberal influence on The Tunnels.

94 Deac and WakeandBake are tied for the most liberal social answers at -6.41. Whereas Wrangor is the ONLY person on this boards that is in the positive with a score of .10. I guess it is fairly easy to see why I feel one against the world on a lot of the social agenda threads. Because literally that seems to be the case.

Strickland takes the liberal cake economically with a strong score of -7.5, while silk proves his equal and opposite leader at a positive 7.75. Pretty interesting set of data points in reality. It truly highlights the social opinion/bias of the board and is a great representation of why the same threads blow up time and time again. Really interesting.

Plenty of conservatives haven't posted their scores. I think it's more interesting that several people are more liberal than they were the last time they took the test. It shows it's not more liberals post, it's that more moderate and conservative posters are becoming more liberal.

The results are pretty self explanatory even without a few Republicans. Look at the evidence. It is clear.

Social conservatives are generally a dying breed. That's why they end up screwing up the Pubs in elections so bad.

As others have said, there were definitely a few questions that were unanswerable....specifically the one regarding a one party system. Yes, not having party squabbling is an advantage, but in general I don't think one party systems are very good.

Moved a tad right since the last time I took it.

Don't know. Maybe I'm grumpy today. I can tell you that I have become more and more concerned about income inequality and the ongoing stagnation of the poor and middle class while the rich reap 100% of the benefit of the improved economy, with no end in sight. I don't think that is a sustainable model, and if it continues it is going to lead to some form of social upheaval in the long run. Doesn't necessarily mean that I agree with all the policy prescriptions that are advanced by Democrats to deal with the problem. I'll try and take the other test later today.

923. I think you are alot like me. There is no black and white answer to the issues that face this country and the "black and white" people on each side tend to annoy you depending on what mood you are in.
