Ouch

I'd like to hear what the "[Redacted] isn't that bad of a guy"-set thinks about those two articles. And if that's not enough, the fact that he's pulled that shit here and with our own players (negative motivation or whatever folks called it) is deplorable.

The man really sucks as a human being and it's not just because he enjoys getting 45 mpg on the highway and dresses like 13-year-old me on the Bar Mitzvah-circuit.

He plays the awkward dork straight to the bank.

"It's important that you're honest with players," [Redacted] said last month. "And the proper way to do it would be to say, 'If I was the present coach at this university when you were in high school, I would not have recruited you, because you don't fit into the style of play we're implementing."'

so much for CULTURE and STUDENT athletes being the most important thing.

good grief, all but two of the players this doofus has recruited to wake don't deserve an acc bball scholarship.

Yeah, not buying that [Redacted] is a nice guy in a bad situation.

The nicest things said by people who have personally interacted with [Redacted] and weren't dipshit crazy were that he's weird and awkward. Not exactly high praise.

And, the quotes speak for themselves.

He is definitely socially awkward, everyone can agree on that. I chalk a lot of his gaffes up to that (e.g. botching press conference quotes, standing up Nebraska coach on a dinner date). There also seems to be some smugness with Buzz, but when your boss is extremely smug then some is bound to rub off.

This entire shit show is ALL on Wellman. The boards constantly shit on Buzz when we should be shredding Wellman to pieces. Wellman is the true jackass.

YES YES YES it is on Wellman, he is the man to blame. Bzz has always been Bzz.

FYI I didn't finish the article. but is this for real? ….I have to finish racing before I say some crazy shit.

Caldwell.

Lobo.

Five years of Bz (at least).

Being a Wake fan is the tenth circle, isn't it?

You figured this out all by yourself? Maybe you should have read the boards a little closer, for the last year and a half or so.

I would not have been surprised had Dan tacked on a final sentence, "I think bzz has Asperger's." That's sort of what the article said to me.

Also, maybe this pneumonia thing will be bzz's out: For health reasons, I am reluctantly submitting my resignation....yada yada yada...it's the players fault .

It has become very clear that Wellman absolutely panicked. He fired Dino without the replacement in hand, and then after he was turned down by the first 2-3 coaches on his list he panicked. Meanwhile, he refused to even interview Brad Brownwell who had done well at UNCW. It is also clear that he relied on a 20 year old relationship with Buzz and did no due diligence on his performance in recent past.

I don't think that is clear at all. To the contrary, I think Wellman got his No. 1 guy.

I know I am in the minority but I actually feel bad for Bz. He was put into a situation he was clearly not ready for. He seems like a good man...just not a very good basketball coach, at least not at this level

No he is not a good man. Good men/coaches accept responsibility and don't throw their players under the bus

#goaskthem

Fuck Bz. These are just more examples in a long history of bad examples (lying to AFA cadets, revealing closed doors disputes to the media with the Nuggets, etc). He is truly a despicable piece of shit.

I find it amazing that it has taken so many people this long to figure it out. Some people's undying trust in Ron Wellman's culture BS was that deep.

What really bothers me is what kind of boss is Ron Wellman, not to tell Bzzzz to take a few weeks off to get over his illness. I know it would've hurt not having him on the bench, but some things are more important than basketball games.

Wellman became obsessed with Buzz when his Air Force team beat Wake several years ago. He knew he wanted Buzz then. Fact.

What? We might have lost a game or two? Heck, I would LOVE to see Battle get a shot at coaching a game or two (or three or four....)
