Wait, she didn't even show up to the debate?

I'm not sure we could have two worse candidates running. At least if Cooper were running for this seat, it would be an auto-vote for the other candidate.

Two bad candidates, but in this case one of them (Tillis) has done demonstrable damage to the state of NC and should be nowhere near a position of power anymore.

I think Hagan is just average. I don't think she's particularly good or bad, just an average senate candidate that is moderate ideologically who doesn't really have strong opinions on a variety of topics. I'll take that 100 times out of 100 compared to Tillis

That's not what voters want. They want their senator to hate the other party.

Burr and Tillis will make a good duo for The Daily Show, hi-jinx galore.

The only logic I can think of is that person got considerably more conservative or had a 2&2 like reaction to Dole.

The fact that many of you can't see an argument against Hagan doesn't surprise me, but let's not pretend people didn't have their health insurance policies cancelled/premiums spike.

There are plenty of reasons to dislike Hagan, but none of them even come close to topping what Tillis has done to crater education in this state these last couple years. He's fucking awful.

Yep. Average implies she probably doesn't do everything well. Tillis makes her look like Jesus Christ himself

Elections aren't about voting for the good candidate. They're about voting for the better candidate. Hagan is the better candidate. Do you really want to risk having 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 years of Tillis representing NC?

jh does because tillis is giving him what he wants

Can I get some more clarification on this? I've finally decided to take much more of an interest in our state politics so I have a lot of work to do. I thought McCrory was the one who singlehandedly made NC the laughingstock of the country for teaching?

Tillis is essentially the head of the state's legislative branch while McCrory is the head of the executive. Both have been culpable in teacher issues but Tillis is the one who was really shoving through the "reforms"

McCrory is an empty suit who has been rubber stamping terrible policies. Tillis is the one proposing and passing those terrible policies

Tillis is a pushover in social issues I think. It seems like he was just going with the wind blowing from rural tea partiers. Berger strikes me as more of a true believer.

I actually think Berger is the worst of them all, but Tillis has been right beside him. I would have liked to have seen a McCrory governorship without the tea party ruining the state. I think the GOP is wrecking his reign.

Berger is by far the worst. Tillis is a slightly-more-conservative-than-a-normal-Republican conservative. Berger is to his right and I'm not sure Tillis cares that much about social issues as noted above. However he is very fiscally conservative and the anti-ACA and anti-teacher stuff is all him IMO.
