Baltimore's deadliest month in 15 years: May counts 35 homicides, so far

I have mine at home in the file, right behind the one I have with the government for them to pick up my trash, which was the example that you first used.

Just stop digging yourself deeper and walk away from this one. You don't have to sign a social contract in order to be bound by it, and that's not even to bring up the notion of moral responsibility.
Laws are individual, and the trash collector has a signed contract to pick up our trash. Where he keeps that contract is none of my business. Sorry you missed out on moral relativism in Philosophy 101, but it's not a real advanced topic so you should be able to catch up quick.

A "social contract" is a philosophical model, a theory. State authority isnt derived from agreement, it's derived from participation. Obviously everyone doesn't agree not to murder each other, or no one would murder anyone.

Ok...then totally forget my post. I misread it, you are correct. Let's start over. Ready?

Why (in your mind) is criticizing police officers racist? What does saying they are only out to serve themselves have to do with race?

This is why I have this guy on ignore. Judging from what a few of you have copied in your replies to his posts, nothing he has posted has made any sense. Is MDMH another one of those 26 to 28-year old silver spoon career students still living off mom & dad who post on these boards, or does he actually have a job and responsibilities other than giving his social pontifications regarding how the world should be on chat boards?

Umm, no. He came from a economically disadvantaged background and was missing parental support for periods of time growing up. Despite that hardship, he still managed to graduate from Wake. So basically, you insulted someone who has never touched the silver spoon that you carried to Wake.

I'd suggest an apology.

Btw, lots of crazy ass wrong on this thread. On both sides. Although nothing beats the moral superiority of the "stupid poors" crowd.

I disagree with MDMH on this issue, but I'd rather have 1000 students with his life experience come through Wake than 1 silver spoon dick head.

I skipped all of my math classes in undergrad, but I'm pretty sure those aren't the ratios at Wake Forest.

I'm not nearly as radical as i'm making myself out to be, the condescension of certain posters just brings out the crazy in me. I've never been in legal trouble, or even close to it, and I consider myself fairly polite and considerate.

JH can cram two parents up his own ass

Evidently, you need a course in remedial reading as well as Skins. If you will go back and read my post to which you responded, you will notice the two-letter word "Is" at the beginning of the sentence to which you are referring. When a sentence begins with the word "Is" and ends with a question mark, that signifies that the sentence is asking a question, not making a statement. I don't know the first damned thing about MDMH...nor did I claim to know anything about him. And since he is on ignore, I don't see anything he posts, either, unless it is copied. (And if he sends me negreps, I don't see them, either.) Nor do I want to know him...or have a conversation with him. I can tell from his copied posts that there would be no point in our trying to have any dialogue.

And LOL at the thought that I came to WF with a silver spoon. I came from a one-income family with a stay-at-home mom....and that one income was around $7,000/year as a blue-collar machinist at Western Electric's Pomona Plant in Greensboro (maybe not even that much, because the first job I had after graduating from WF, an administrative trainee with Burlington Industries, paid $610/month...and I doubt that my Dad was making that much, though it could have been in that general area)...where he car-pooled with three other men who got jobs there when I was around 8 years old. Prior to that he worked at the cotton mill in Worthville. I never even had a car during my four years at WF. I thumbed back and forth if I went home on a weekend. I would guess that 90% of the time I was at WF I had less than $10 in my billfold....and I still have a letter I got from my Mom informing me that she had deposited $25 in my checking account. So you can take that silver spoon stuff and stick it where the sun doesn't shine as far as where I am concerned. I didn't come from the elite class that makes up most of the "WF Family" today.
You don't seem to enjoy people assuming that you were rich and spoiled when you went to Wake. You should take that to heart and stop using it as a lazy insult against others.

you have to realize that, to him, literally every other person who went to wake is a silver spoon dipshit, regardless of reality

Or racist against white people. Don't forget that one.

That's bullshit and you know it. Society runs on people fulfilling their responsibilities. If there is a promise to pick up trash, and trash isn't picked up, the person who made promise is the one responsible for the trash.

LOL from a lib
