Ongoing NC GOP debacle thread

But not literally because we took money from the disaster relief to cover HB2 lawsuits.

Didn't that get shot down, or did it really go through?

If we did wind up actually doing that then Hurricane Matthew exploited the stupidity of that move pretty quickly.

How can people elected to public office at a state level be so stupid?

McCrory said during the debate that he just got approval to move it, he never actually took the money out

So where did the money come from to cover the lawsuits?

When Hurricane Floyd hit the the NCGA appropriated over $800,000,000 for flood relief and recovery. McCrory says the $18,000,000 he has in the disaster recovery rainy day fund is enough for now. It will be interesting to see what happens in the short session next year with a Dem governor, perhaps Dem senate and a Pub house.

It's actually a long session next year, and it will likely be just that -- loooooooong.

How much of that $800M will be used to build HB2 friendly bathrooms and hire the Penis Patrol Offers?

That's a brutal editorial... Invoking the Peter principle is entirely appropriate for McCrory.

"McCrory has been spineless before Senate leader Phil Berger and House Speakers Thom Tillis and Tim Moore."

Ouch.

The last line was the best one.

McCrory had a notable career in public service. But he has climbed the ladder beyond his abilities. It is time for him to come home.
