Asheville Restaurants

i thought curate is closed for renovations right now?

That would appear to be the case until March 30. I would still eat there though.

It is awesome but tough to get in. We were there 2 weeks ago but made the res 7 weeks out. Would have been more than happy at En La Calle for drinks then downstairs to Limones. Zambra is pretty special though in my opinion.

I have to agree about Zambra. We go there early every time we are in Asheville.

and fwiw En La Calle is Limones sister restaurant right next door, and they also have a pretty good menu of their own (they share a kitchen w/ Limones so the food is almost the same, just a little more casual).

Zambra is very solid, great backup/alternative to Curate (which sucks that it's closed because the gf was trying to take me there for bday at end of month FTL).

This thread reminds me I still have a lot of places to hit still.

Foothill Meats was great. It's a trailer out front of the Hi Wire Big Top. Had a fantastic Carolina style burger. And the Reuben and Cuban both looked great as well.

Sweet, might be trying that in a couple weekends then.

Still trying to make the time work when I am up there for work so I can get by Romans for lunch. What's the word on this joint?

That the downtown deli? Pretty tasty sandwiches iirc. I've only had one once that someone got for me (chicken salad I think?) and it was pretty great, and I don't even normally like chicken salad.

Yeah, it's the deli. It's only open from 10-4 and always packed. I usually don't have the time to wait but want to try at least once. It sucks that it is closed on the weekends.

Totally forgot about this (sorry if it's been posted), but my buddy and his wife run this place, and he's a Deac.

Know anything about it? I need to get back up there and hang with him and check it out.

Interesting, I've walked by it a ton of times (it's in a great location), didn't know it was run by a deac, I'll have to check it out now.

So I actually just had my first Taco Billy experience today. Damn, need more of that.

I want taco billy. I think I will get taco billy on ... Sunday. Or Saturday.

Good choice, and if you save room for "dessert" after, Hole is right across/down the street and makes awesome fresh as fuck (to order) yeast donuts that just melt in your mouth.

nom. nom nom nom. gonna get so fat on this trip, good thing we're riding bikes on saturday/sunday.
