I wouldn't have PMed before making the initial accusation, because, again, I didn't even think it was a point of debate.

Once tic responded, at what point should I have stopped, PMed Toogs, and then come back to thread with a mea culpa? That would have looked way worse, and had way more impact on the game.

I still can't believe that no one looked at our interaction that day. I knew it was you. You knew it was me. And then everyone just completely ignored it and lynched manning, who was the most obvious vanilla civ since I started playing

How would it have been angle-shooty for JTP? They didn't even no-hit day 1, which is what started the argument. He did do it later.

Anyway the standard c9++ ruleset needs to be updated to say one of two things: A)Mafia can RB and not hit if only the Rber remains, or B)Mafia does not have to hit.

100% this. I talked to Toogs about it while it was happening and he told me he couldn't say anything or it would impact the game and I agreed. I wasn't going to come back after my discussion with him and say "WELL ACTUALLY, IT IS POSSIBLE AND I KNOW FOR A FACT". That fucks everything. It was better how we handled it.

To me, the fact that it says that the Mafia RB may choose to hit or RB and not both, means, with certainty, that if he's the last mafia member remaining, the option should remain.

Wrong.

Mafia could NOT have that argument without being total bitches. You not realizing it at the time, or continuing to argue against a well known mechanic of C++, doesn't change it.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. I still read it differently, but that's probably just going to have to be something we specify in rulesets from now on.
 
all in all, this is why c9++ is a great format. the setups are balanced, varied, and typically have fun puzzles in the midgame that don't completely overtake reading players in the endgame (if people are smart).

I'm not asking you when JTP should have jumped in. I'm asking where you think the argument should have stopped once it became an argument.

Yeah I'm sure he hasn't. I don't think I have either, but it still puts JTP in an impossible situation. Toogs can't clarify without clearing RSF.

I just find it funny that RSF refuses to acknowledge it.

I don't think there is an answer. Once you started down that road its already kind of fucked. Again, not saying there was bad intent anywhere. But the dumbtell screwed JTP.

I'm acknowledging that it's a shitty situation for Toogs. I'm just not sure what you think should have been done differently; I think neither me nor tic realized it was a potential argument until it had already become one.
