I really don't care either way, and think this Wolfe kid is pretty dumb for inflaming the situation, but the double standard of the resident liberal SJWs is pretty hilarious to see. If a black student leader protesting Trump/Koch/etc had been handed a watermelon and photo-shopped onto a piece of fried chicken, the outrage on here (and elsewhere) would be monumental.

Atlanta's minor league baseball team was called the Atlanta Crackers for thirty years, up until the 1960's. I still don't expect to be called a cracker.
 
Yeah pretty much the first thing you learn if you are ever in trouble at Wake is that it’s judge jury and executioner. It was reported they followed the process and the judgement was that it was fucking stupid because as has been shown here nobody can tell anyone how being called cracker is insulting and causes any pain or suffering.

I thought it’s they have a system to report bias and they look into bias, seems they did that and the problem is their judgement was Ryan Wolfe twitter troll and cracker, case closed.
 
no it doesn't count because clearly they didn't investigate it because he's a white guy and WFU is super liberal and hates republicans. and we know that because Ryan said so
 
Since DistrictDeacon is either unwilling (childish) or unable (child) to answer my questions, I'll take his advice and answer the most recent one myself. I tend to treat the insult "white bread" in much the same way as "cracker." They share many of the same valences: plain, bland, uninteresting, white. DD clearly doesn't find the former insulting because it is his avatar. I can't remember its genesis, but it seems at least that he has embraced the label ironically. Why is "cracker" any different? Is it because the name-caller was black? Or do you genuinely find the term "cracker" to be derogatory?

Or is "cracker" insulting in this situation precisely because it wasn't punished?

What if she had Photoshopped his face onto a piece of white bread? Would that be just as insulting? Would you still consider it racially motivated?
