Facebook Gold from Crazies

Recent events have provided a lot of material for this thread.

Bottom line - 1) kids who saw their classmates murdered are Nazi pawns of Soros 2) Why should we concern ourselves with Trump's behavior 11 years ago?

Seems the media has successfully scared y'all enough to openly worry about the redneck riots.

To be fair, it looks like a bunch of high school kids has Trumpite gun owners running scared and worried too.

Except we always knew Trumpite gun owners were idiots. Only recently did I discover my fellow democrats were close to as bad. Foxnews is a disaster, and in response to Trump every liberal news source became foxnews themselves. Anderson cooper just did serious interviews with two porn stars in the past week.

At best most can claim to be slightly less insane than the average foxnews fucktard. Congrats.

I mean you poll liberals on this board whether facebook ads or George papapimpleface stole the election and most of you think that happened. It's absolutely batshit insane.

Do you really believe that "every liberal news source" is as bad as Fox - America's Pravda? CNN and MSNBC are close to tabloid journalism at times, but I don't recall them ever shilling for Obama the way Fox has for Trump. And why is Cooper doing interviews with porn stars - maybe it's because those porn stars slept with the POTUS and were then paid to keep quiet about it - a man who is supported by evangelicals for doing God's will in the Oval Office. It's not Cooper's fault for reporting on the tawdry doings of the President of the United States - it's Trump's fault for being tawdry. How is that "insane"? Should CNN and MSNBC just ignore Trump's private behavior and give him a pass? I don't think facebook or other social media ads stole the election - Hillary, whom I've always thought was a terribly flawed politician and utterly uninspiring campaigner, managed to lose it all by herself - but it is hardly batshit insane to be concerned and disturbed about foreign governments screwing around with our elections via facebook and other social media sites, whether they changed the results or not. Trump is a nutcase who was elected leader of the most powerful country in the world, yet you seem to blame the news media for reporting on Trump's insanity more than on Trump for being batshit crazy. How should CNN and other media outlets cover Trump and his never ending chaos? Just ignore it?

I think CNN and MSNBC went for the ratings and gave up their journalism card in the past year. I'm disappointed because I used to think my party and my news sources were better than fox. Yes, they're still somewhat better. But not that much.

You cover Trump objectively, not take the bait over every outrage card there is, and then when there's a legit issue maybe you have some credibility left. Unfortunately, they burned that card and now if something actually is worthy of outrage, no one is left to listen.

Every Chris Cillizza thought is not worthy of headline news on your website. Its trash. Just like Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity are trash.

At this point the "trump chaos" is mostly caused (or made up) by the media. If they were smart, they'd start running headlines saying "Trump could be the president who unites if he only did this with DACA" and he'd soak up the headline and solve the immigration issue in a day. He's that easily manipulated.

He's an idiot, a dangerous idiot, with the nuclear football. wait out the 4 years, placate him, and manipulate him into doing some of your policies and then get him the hell out of there before he can do some damage. Don't hammer him non-stop over pornstars so he ends up nuking canada because their Prime Minister looked at his daughter the wrong way.

This may be the best thing you've ever posted. Trump has trolled the media into irrelevance. Coked up Stormy Daniels on 60 minutes was another hilarious rock bottom for them. You are right, they could manipulate Trump. He is deeply affected by coverage and watches constantly.

Instead the members of the mainstream media are wailing and thrashing like toddlers on a supermarket floor, and the bad guy is winning.

LOL. CNN was background noise before Trump, now they are relevant. Trump is doing a great job of reminding everyone why we need a mainstream media.

CNN and MSNBC aren't the beginning and end of the MSM. Pretty much all cable news will be suckier than print journalism. MSNBC tries to follow the foxnews model (but doesn't get there), while CNN puts out low hanging fruit (on both sides IMO, although Trump is an eternal provider). That said-this part is a guess-when you post lists of ridiculous CNN headlines, it's like because you seek out ridiculous headlines and the tracking cookies tailor the front page to your clicks.

CNN sucks mostly because their website really likes to autoplay videos.

Did you all know that you can look up the categories Facebook has you in to sell you to advertisers?

Settings > Ads > Your Information > Review and Manage Your Categories

It's pretty creepy to see what they get right and funny what they get wrong.

Do conservatives think CNN, Fox and MSNBC are the only sources of news available? Those are the only ones I ever hear about.

Maybe stop watching cable news altogether?

It isn't the media's job to manipulate the president or to try to influence public policy.

Facebook says I’m interested in women. It’s like they’re in my head!

Yeah, I found that line to be a curious argument. Apparently, the news media shouldn't actually report on all the shitty things going on in Trump's administration, or the many insults and crazy things he tweets or says on a daily basis, but should instead coddle him and tell him what a wonderful person he is and what a wonderful job he's doing (basically, pull a Fox News), so they can then manipulate him into doing liberal things his base won't support, and maybe save the world until 2020. Oh, and the clear chaos in Trump's administration and leadership style doesn't really exist, but is a media creation, and even if the chaos does exist it's all CNN and MSNBC's fault for driving Trump to be chaotic. And, if Trump decides to nuke some part of the world, it won't be because he's batshit crazy or because 35 to 40 percent of the public follow him with cult-like devotion, it will be because CNN, MSNBC, and other mainstream media outlets goaded him into it by reporting on what a shitty human being he is on pretty much a daily basis, and showing how many of his policies are hurting immigrants, the poor, etc. If only they would suck up to him and stop reporting on his tweets (which reflect the personal views and opinions of the POTUS, and thus are most certainly newsworthy), they could convince him to do the bidding of liberals, and we would be fine until 2020. Again, that's a most curious line of argument. BTW, I almost never watch or use CNN or MSNBC myself, and they are tabloid-level a good deal of the time, although I would argue that they're still well above Fox. I think NPR, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Politico, the BBC, and Reuters are all far superior sources of information. I do watch NBC's Meet the Press and ABC's This Week on Sunday mornings, mainly for the roundtable discussions, which are usually entertaining, even if not all that informative.
