I'll be there next Wednesday. Can the funeral be that day ?

you don't realize how many places you have accounts on the internet until they all update their terms of service at the same time

52 kids to a birthday party?

um

Yeah, we have a problem drawing a line. Essentially it's an effect of feeling obligated to invite the whole class, plus all the friends we have in the neighborhood, and opening it up to siblings as well (and most of her friends have a sibling or two).

Were hoping Memorial Day weekend would mean lots of folks out of town and unable to come. Apparently not.

One of the Cobra Kai writers is someone I went to school with. I've seen Hot Tube Time Machine but never realized he wrote that too. I guess what I am saying is, I really keep up with people's careers.

Biff you seem particularly suited for this query: nextdoor tells me there is a volunteer position available on the Zoning Hearing Board available. in what circle of hell does this position reside.

If it's a small enough town it could be bearable. There are definitely lunatics involved but it is an essential government function. Odds are everyone will hate you because you allowed a Taco Bell within 100 yards of the family farm or you delayed their development and cost them tens of thousands of dollars because you put them through three site plan revisions because you didn't want to drop an extra 5,000 vehicles per day onto a neighborhood street.

Question is whether the hearing board has any real power, or if they just make recommendations to the town/city council which they in turn vote to approve or not ? You don't want to spend a bunch of time as a volunteer making a recommendation based on logic and existing zoning ordinance and then have it make no difference because the developer or property owner has half the council in his back pocket.
