Dude should not have been talking about what he thought might have happened. Not his place to say "I thought he might just walk off the course". I don't like Phil, but Joe Buck sucks worse.

Phil snapped on 13 and ran after his ball to stop a bad putt from rolling off the green. Looked pretty funny actually. Golf is frustrating as hell.

Would have been better for Phil to have done that at the Waste Management Invitational and not the US Open.

I love it. It’s the damn US open, it’s not supposed to be easy. Who cares if the winning score is -10 or +10, the course is playable and the best player will win.

I don't know who is the most sanctimonious and irritating between Joe Buck, Paul Azinger and David Fay. Why the hell isn't Curtis the booth guy of this bunch? Buck and Azinger are bound and determined to defend the USGA when the course has started to get away from them. It's not as bad as 2004, but I think what has happened is the forecast was for less wind so they probably put less water on it this a.m. Some of these greens have so much slope that you just can't run them at 13 with 15-20 mph winds. That's the 1 thing Fay has been correct about. Run them at 11.5-12, and you wouldn't see the balls running away doing zigzags. While I wouldn't necessarily call it unfair, what is a bit unfair was for the guys who did well in the morning in much more benign conditions. Berger and Finau are probably back in their hotel rooms laughing their asses off.

All that said, Rose's short game doesn't suck.
