2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

I've never been super critical of flip flopping. It's politics. Grow up. As long as you don't think they're blowing you full of smoke, it's a perfectly normal thing to either: A: adjust your platform to help/appeal to more people or B: correct a past mistake.

Given that Donald Trump, king of the carpetbaggers, is currently sitting in the white house, I'm not sure how much lower you can go.

sometimes it seems like cville and ChrisL are in a competition for best centrist.

While I'm not the most well read poster here, I generally keep up with politics and am not familiar with the Working Families Party. My sarcastic point is that whoever this party endorses will not move the needle in either the primary or general (and will have far less effect than Jill Stein). If the American National Socialist Party were to endorse Trump, I would say the same thing.

And yet you (ChrisL, ITC) still feel comfortable blaming Bernie bros for losing 2016.

Need to get paternity leave, better maternity leave (really just better paid family leave in general) before messing with the huge issue of excessive hours. But it is interesting that our labor is so far out of whack compared to other similar Western countries.

No, I have never said that, but it figures you'd make something like that up. 2016 was a perfect storm for a number of things, and the person I blame the most is Clinton for running yet another shitty tin-eared campaign. Next was Trump's candidacy, which changed the Electoral College scene a bit, and after that Comey and after that the raises in ACA prices the week of the election. And sure after that, there were a number of Romney/Clinton and Obama/Trump voters, but it's tough to tell how many of the latter voted for Bernie in the Dem primary. So no, I place precious little blame for 2016 on either Bernie or his bros, however I'm sure you will continue to believe that I do. Please feel free to continue to misquote me.

Do you equate the Working Families party with the entire progressive movement?

Unlike cville, I do place a significant amount of blame at the Frankenstein's monster that Bernie built with the aid of Russian propaganda for the 2016 election results. Of course there were other factors as well.

And ChrisL wins the centrist competition! Congrats.

PH is still going to tell us Mayor Pete is progressive.

And Booker and Harris are?

Almost all the field is Progressive unless your definition of Progressive is Bernie. L

I wasn’t arguing that Booker and Harris were, but at least Harris has at one point said she supports Medicare 4 all. And no, not everyone in the field can be labeled progressive.

I said almost everyone. But your definition of progressive is Bernie. Universal health care is progressive. Bernie’s M4A is Bernie.
