Is this a serious post? Anybody who doesn't/didn't recognize that this came from the Wuhan lab is either (a) purely into Covid for the anti-Trump results, or (b) a fucking moron. Anyone with any common sense understood a long time ago that this came from the Chinese government yet Trump is still an asshole. The two points are mutually exclusive to anyone but the most committed of Coronabros.

The only question for the past year has been whether it escaped by accident or on purpose. That's where the discussion and the potential response gets really uncomfortable for said Coronabros.

the most likely explanation has always been that the virus came from the Wuhan lab; what Trump said or did not say has nothing to do with it;

What’d Trump do about it? If it was truly from Chinese labs. Seems like he screwed that up too, or at least was too chicken to confront China about it.
 
The resident covid deniers on here are taking a victory lap on this for some reason, but I’m not sure what nailing down the source of the virus would have done to change the necessity for precautions taken this past year. Would China have opened itself up to provide all the information on the virus? Doubt it. Clearly they didn’t know much more than anyone else or they’d have had a vaccine quicker than they did.

So what would that knowledge have changed?

Two of those suggest that the Chinese government leaked the virus on purpose, and the others are not given enough context to know what crazy shit might be debunked by the articles.

Idiots like Cotton, Angus, and 2&2 are always 100% certain of the unproven shit they read, putting actual scientists who don't match their professed certainty at a disadvantage, compounded by the fact that actual scientists and investigators are more compelled to-and do-accept corrections to their previous assertions, while the aforemention idiots do no such thing. The Internet is wonderful.

Does it matter what lil donnie knew? Whatever he knew he weaponized to use against his opponents and our FELLOW AMERICANS. His words in public combined with his recorded admissions on the record helped to kill 600k Americans. Irreparable harm was done to a lot of vulnerable people, many his own supporters, for what he considered his advantage.

Probably the international reaction. In most cases, if one country purposely or at a minimum grossly negligently does something that, assuming you believe the numbers, kills 3.5 million people worldwide including 600,000 Americans, there would be significant economic and/or military retaliation. Anywhere from a complete economic embargo to sending them a Greetings From Hiroshima postcard.

A large segment of our nation has collectively lost its shit over the past year because of a handful of perceived state-sponsored grossly negligent or intentional police killings, yet that same segment would find no problem with state-sponsored deaths of millions of people? Eh, I'm sure the Chinese didn't really mean for it to happen, so it's all good. Just like Derek Chauvin.

What is this mounting evidence? That some people in the lab got sick? That needs to be followed but is just circumstantial.

Or do you mean the story about domestic flights out of Wuhan being cancelled but international still allowed? I think that was debunked.
