Biden/Schumer/Pelosi Accountability Thread

"Let the fascists win, so we can win more elections in a few years" is peak white progressive privilege.

“Keep believing in the Democratic Party even though it continually fails to pass legislation that improves your quality of life” are the words of the newly wealth who have left their childhood communities behind.

Do you think that my disillusionment and rage is impacted by the fact that I work with hundreds of at-risk minority students every day? That I understand that these wasted legislative opportunities are only going to worsen the cycle of hopelessness and poverty that engulfs them, and that the inaction and corruption of the Democratic Party is directly to blame.

How many opportunities does this party get to disappoint us?

Nobody actually believes in the Democratic Party. In a government limited by two party politics, it’s the better choice.

It’s like watching the Super Bowl and rooting for the team you hate less against the team who would build a white supremacist utopia if they won.

I don’t agree with Brasky that we need burn the party down but I do think we need new leadership. Can’t see how that’s even arguable at this point.

Whats the alternative!?!

Convince people to vote for your candidates and primaries then win general elections. If you have more popular ideas, get the votes to put them into action.

you also gotta keep in mind brasky that most of these dudes are (1) pretty well off and (2) haven't done a lot of/any internal work with Dem campaigns/orgs so there's a lot of comfortable optimism about how democracy works

also also it's so much more rewarding to say fuck our corpo parties and get involved with unionization/climate/neighborhood organization efforts that aren't just obsessed with voting being the limit to political action

So what's your plan to make real change through unionization/climate/neighborhood organization efforts when Republicans run all levels of government?

That's not a real question because we've had this conversation like twice already and you literally don't move an inch on vote vote vote

If I was jhmd I'd try to waste your time

It’s not about better messaging, grassroots, or convincing voters you have better ideas, it’s about power and money.

oh was it that important to ninja edit the word snark in there? lololol

I agree with this. I've tried talking with Ph about this very argument when I brought up my views on political action and I wish you the best of luck if this conversation goes any further birdman.

Race pimping at its best.

It’s a real question you won’t answer. You and others bail whenever I ever ask about organizing to what ends to convince who to make what changes outside the government structure. It’s an underpants gnomes argument. Fill in the ???. Pretend you’re talking to someone you’re trying to organize and they ask “Won’t Republicans just stop this?”

I added the snark part to clarify how I thought you were being like jhmd. I don’t get why you think that’s funny.
