My beautiful, backwards South Carolina still lets me pull that trigger on straight ticket voting.
 
I guess I will have to wait until after work to offer up my support for my favorite self serving narcissists.
 
Will Herschel Walker be the dumbest Senator of all time? My initial thought is no, I am sure there were some people in the 1800s who couldn't read or believed in crazy things. Then I thought will he be the dumbest Senator in the last 100 years, and I was unsure, as this is America, and I did a little research and found Senator William Scott of Virginia. Who along with being extremely racist, was not the brightest of men.

A 1974 article in New Times by Nina Totenberg reported that Scott had been ranked at the top of the list of "The Ten Dumbest Members of Congress".

Scott's critics cited many examples to support this claim. While being briefed about the military capabilities of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Scott reportedly confused missile silos for grain silos and said "Wait a minute! I'm not interested in agriculture. I want the military stuff.

Also Ron Johnson comes up a lot when you google this kind of stuff.

in the world of politics today, it's always crazy to me when different parties split statewide races -- or at least have notable disparities in margin of victory

I don't know of anyone in my life who is voting one party for senator and another party for governor

yeah. I took the Buncombe Dem sample ballot so I could know which school board members to vote for since they don't list parties. Since my son isn't of that age yet I don't pay that much attention to school board stuff but I sure as shit don't want some CRT/trans bashing morons voted in.
 
the most annoying thing about voting is filling in the damn circles and the table is shaking with all the other people doing it. in FL when I used to vote you connected a line. I hate the circles.
 
I think it’s a sliding scale because the ability to read and write wasn’t as mainstream as 2022. With intelligence inflation of the modern world, Walker wins the title as dumb as shit representative. Like if you do a random generator for location and then person in the United States they would be guaranteed to be smarter.
 
Voting on judges is beyond dumb. Even educated voters in the area don’t know enough to know if they should retain or who to vote for.

I voted straight ticket minus not voting for our batshit councilor who is running unopposed
 
We have a couple of constitutional amendments on the ballot - one protecting reproductive rights and the other clarifying the prohibition against slavery. There are maybe two Republicans in Vermont in statewide races that aren't certifiable whack-jobs and one of them will be re-elected governor.

I’m not sure I can live in a state dumb enough to elect Hershel Walker.

I just look to see if they are listed as Republicans or are endorsed by republicans. That's enough information for me to be fully educated on whether to retain them.
