Yeah. I think Cam is a really solid player who’s giving everything he’s got. He knows how to get to the line and he’s tough. Comparing him to Josh is insane and that’s not a slight on Cam. Josh has more athleticism and natural ability in his pinkie finger. Cam is doing the most with what he’s got at the moment and he’s certainly a net positive. He is not and never will be Josh mfing Howard.
 
Believe me, I watched a ton of josh. I’m an 03 grad after all.

I’m not saying Cam is a poor man’s NBA all star Josh. I’m saying he’s a poor man’s college Josh, particularly compared to the period before Josh became a reliable offensive weapon.

They are both great defenders, great rebounders, have above average handles for the 3, good passers, have that chip on their shoulder, and can score. They both fill up the stat sheet and make the team better without the ball in their hands.
 
I just got home from the game. I thought VPI played outstanding defense in general, especially against Cam. They effectively denied entry passes to Marsh. Monsanto was pretty bad early on which led to his benching and Klintman's increased playing time.

There were way too many Hokies in the Joel. The Hokie next to me (in a wake fan's season ticket seat) bitched about every call against them and thought we committed around 40 fouls. I would have said something to him, but he had his 4 +/- old daughter with him.

I had my fill of them in Groves in 2006. They never commit penalties. They're the even-more-redneck version of UNC "fans". Horrendous.
 
Deacons show enough GGTT to claim victory in a hard fought game. The three point line, the foul line and points from turnovers all favor Wake.

Good to see Davien hit some big three's late. Appleby with an outstanding performance. Carr, Hildreth and Marsh were solid. When Damari hit two pressure free throws to ice a win, he had a reason to smile. Klintman is struggling to provide offense but he is out of his shell. His improved rebounding and defensive effort earn him minutes off the bench.

That is an asinine post. Hildreth is very obviously a backup/secondary ball handler when he’s on the court with Appleby, and he’s the main ball handler when Appleby isn’t on the court. On defense I think he usually matches up with the 2-3 based on athleticism. Coaches don’t set up basketball rosters strictly positionally like an online fantasy lineup, it’s based on offensive and defensive skillset and matchups.

If I have one quibble with him it’s that he still can’t shoot from the outside. Under 30% from 3 on the season. Imagine how dangerous he could be if he shot 35%+ from out there and defenders had to respect his shot. Hopefully we find out his Jr/Sr years.

He is decent when he has time to plant, but terrible under pressure. He has improved from last year and I believe that will be the next step to his game next year.
 
Yes VPI has a terrible fan base. Incredibly obnoxious. It seemed like they had a lot of fans there on tv.

Go back and rewatch our games so far this year. I am willing to put any amount you want that you will see he has won us more games this year than cost us.
