OFFICIAL WAKE FOREST FOOTBALL v. ELON thread

Surprised Micah Mays and Antonio Robinson aren't on the depth chart. They were the 2 highest regarded incoming freshmen. Guess thats a good sign......sorta??

Two different scenarios.

Comparing Micah Mays and Deuce Alexander -- and which one is going to play -- is an example of early enrollee benefits. Clawson said about halfway through fall camp that Deuce looked overwhelmed in the spring but was more comfortable now. Would suspect Mays is going to be comfortable in the spring (his athleticism is there and he seems coachable).

Antonio Robinson might be good in the future but he was coming off an injury and they took it pretty slow with him. Wouldn't rule him out of appearing on a later depth chart but he's not a top-5 CB or top-2 nickel at this point.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense.

Make sure you thank Cathy as she rides on out there!

ETA: At least Stan Cotten will already be in the stadium.

There may or may not have been a media member who said this every time he had a catch in fall camp.
As long as that media member doesn't say "The Wake offense had a diarrhea of a game as the Deuce got loose for 7 receptions for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 38-21 win over #5 ranked Florida State."

If that result actually occurs, then media members can say whatever they want!

Hmmm, the last time the consensus was that we'd be middling this year but next year will be the breakout year was 2006...
I don't know if that's exactly how I remember it. We had a shitload of returning starters in '06.

2005 was pretty blah though so I get it from that standpoint

Yeah, middling is underselling the mood somewhat in 2006. I think most people thought we would be much improved, but because a lot of those returning starters were juniors in 2006, we were pointing to 2007 as the year we would make some real noise.

got 4 deacon hill tickets from a toomanyweapons but had a ufo come up last minute. free to wake fan!

Was going to resume our season tickets this year but turns out my work schedule highly conflicts with most of our home games.

Decided yesterday to look into attending on Thursday…was able to get three tickets in section 5 for a decent price via SeatGeek, which seems to be the official re-seller for Wake tickets.

Looking forward to being there!

Was looking at Elon's depth chart and they average 311lbs on the OL, with all the backups as big or bigger except at left tackle. I know that doesn't mean they're really good necessarily, but size wise at least, they'll be representative of what we normally see against P5 teams.
