2021 Fitness / Weight-Loss Accountability Thread - BACK FOR 2024!

I went to the gym last night and worked out on the rowing machine for 30 minutes mostly just to see where i stand for my upcoming treks. Managed to go 4.1 miles and burn 404 calories in that 30 minutes. Our longest day in March is 6.8 miles so I think I’ll be ok. Bigger worry is my daughter’s strength and stamina.

I’ve probably logged over 2000 miles in a canoe with my wife and her paddle has touched the water twice.

Yeah. In June we’ll be three to a canoe so that should be fine. In March we are taking two separate kayaks for the two of us. The intent is that my tandem will hold me and most of the gear and she’ll be on her own, but I guess worst case is she could hop in with me and we could tow the second boat with the gear.

2 Years ago I tried Keto and lost 60 lbs and needed to lose more. I started in like November 2021, and by the end of the following summer had lost the 60 lbs, but then I started to let a few more carbs in and then Thanksgiving and Xmas hit and I started gaining again. I'm up to what I was at before but determined to lose again this year.

Not very comfortable giving specifics about weights, but I need to lose A LOT. I'm starting with Keto + Intermittent Fasting combo and no jump in exercising quite yet because I have two terrible knees and feel like losing a little weight first will allow an easier transition to exercise. I'll never be a weightlifter, but I like jogging/walking/stretching, so that's my initial plan. I just gotta get used to buying the keto brands. It was such a strange feeling going from eating like I was, to only being hungry like once a day while in ketosis. Sometimes less often.

Who knows if I'll stick with that or this thread, but I'm hoping to. Looking forward to not being a fat slob anymore.

Have had a weird stomach bug thing going on for a week now....

BUT

Since about 4 or 5 days before it started, I've lost 24.6 lbs.

Really insane how much I lost...hope I can stick to it when I'm back to 100%.

If you're feeling better and still down 25lbs, you're probably very dehydrated. Please get some water.

You are correct, that's been goal #1...though I didn't have much problem with fluid intake, just couldn't eat much. But I've definitely been staying hydrated.
