MBB Game 25: @UVA - Saturday Noon - ESPN2

We really need Florida to finish season top 30 in NET. Maybe UVA will go on another streak. Both of those quad 1s and maybe 4-2 gets in as long as one of the 4 is Duke.

Hard to figure why Sallis did the inbound then trailed Cam the entire way. Got picked up near mid-court by Beekman I think. Then with 3.2 & Cam’s head down, Damari is wide open for game winner.

Parker was also wide open

Virginia is a must win game. It is the last opportunity for the Deacs to show they can beat a top shelf team on the road. At VPI and at ND don't offer that.

The Deacs won't get the benefit of the doubt in the selection process. Wake Forest basketball is 11 years of crap, followed by three years of winning records until their late season dive when the games count. Finished 3-4 in their final 7 ACC games in 2022. Finished as a two seed NIT team. Finished 2-5 in 2023 and sat at home. A win at UVA opens eyes as a tournament team and puts the Deacs in the final four in. A loss just the affirms the belief this team will fold again. Losing to a team on the road that you beat by 19 at home can close a door and lock it.
Welp.

Not according to Cam Lemon

We won our last trip to VT last year and we also beat them in the season finale in 2017 when we had to win to lock up an NCAA Tournament bid since we didn't have many good wins to hang our hat on. Let's just do that again

VT doesn't offer the same "tournament win" that UVA does on the road but it's going to be a Q1 road win barring VT folding down the stretch. ND is just "can't lose" so we need to take care of business there at 9 PM
What in the world makes you think we win at VTech? Our guys don’t have the nuts to win on the road against decent teams, they’ve had plenty of opportunities and clearly can’t get it done. Glad it’s baseball season.

We won our last trip to UVa before today too.

I would be on board if we had Cam pre-injury. Cam post injury...

Obviously Wake COULD lose two of their last four games at home to finish at 10-10, but I don't see it. We're performing roughly 8-9 points better at home than on the road so far this year in ACC play. We've only lost 5 home games over the last 2.5+ seasons. We're undefeated at home this year, and only two of the home wins have been in single digits this year.

That last play was not good…almost like they didn’t have play drawn up. Really sad that we let another one slip away. We are running out of time to prove we are a tournament level team.
