Official Dayton Game Thread

Those exact words? Nobody. It has been more than implied that our team lacks any talent tho.

We weren't less talented than Dayton, for example, but people act like we over achieved tonight because we kept it close. We played a good, hard game and just came up short, but that wasn't because we had less collective talent than our opponent's tonight, IMO.

Oh, I agree that the lack of any decent inside players hurt us tonight. That Kavanaugh dude isn't that good, but looked like a world beater against us. Massive problem going forward.

Our talent is still good enough in other positions to compete on a consistent basis, however, IMO.

And we did compete, so that's a good thing.

I thought Bz did an excellent job for 36 minutes of that game. The final four, I felt like he gave Tony a bit too much freedom, and didn't make sure that our shooters received the ball in favorable spots. Too much emphasis seemed to be on letting Travis and Tony create something off of the dribble. That's not their game and that's not how we were playing all game... Don't know if that's on Bz, but just an observation.

We didn't lose that game as much as got beaten by a streaky team... Props to Dayton, they killed us from three in the clutch.

That one hurts, but I can deal with a loss like that. If you can't see the differences between this year and last year, then you probably should just quit while you're ahead...

Talented team = if we don't win, it's [Redacted]'s fault. Nice.

I've said we are "talent shy." That does not mean we are devoid of talent. We are however short of the talent needed to compete for championships, make post season play, or have a winning season.

That's pretty much the definition of talent shy isn't it?

I don't believe that "talent shy" is defined considering that it is a subjective term.

Agreed. I do wonder what the play call there was. I doubt he told him to shoot a 3 (and obviously he didn't tell him to shoot a long 2), so why did he shoot it? I'm pretty sure it was a drive and dish situation that didn't pan out.

If the first five minutes are any indication, I hope we play Arizona State tomorrow.

I think we were trying to go 2 for 1 on Tony's long 2 but why not shoot a three if you're gonna chuck a 20 footer. Experience will come though.

Fuck you. Seriously. We are terrible and lost to fucking Dayton. An Archie Miller coached team. Your expectations are entirely too low and I have no qualms about telling you so. So "you should just quit while you're ahead..."

Fairfield has a big guy and ASU looks awful...please win Fairfield.

Two motion offenses duking it out in Orlando.

Post game, buzz said that the first option was to hit Chase coming off a screen for the three. When that didn't pan out, we forgot about options 2,3, and 4, and chucked it.

According to buzz, lack of experience in late game situations hurt us there.

Dayton was ranked 90 spots higher than us in KenPom.

Just a terrible post by a terrible poster. Par for the course at this juncture I suppose.

How hard were you cheering for Dayton down the stretch?

The competition for "worst board poster" must be heating up.

I'm sorry. I was an undergrad at Wake when Tim Duncan was on the team. I suppose that's too much for some of you to fathom. Yes, we were #2 in the country and actually worthy of that ranking. But whatever, you're right i was hoping we would lose... :rulz::rulz::rulz:
