Saturday College Football 12/3

Bad call there. Probably determined the game too.

Clear and solid contact with the leg. Have to make that call.

What an ending again in the Wiscy MSU game. MSU would've won it after the punt return to the one but the roughing penalty took it away. Shouldn't have even been near the punter. Stupid.

Congrats to Wilson. Glad TOB didn't want him back as the Pack would've beaten us and there goes the bowl game.

Is that not what the polls do? I just think Bama is the best team, but LSU and OSU have better resumes and should play for the title.

If you're talking about teams that haven't played each other, I can see the "eye test" being just as good as any other arbitrary tie breaker.

Your eye test tells you Bama is better than LSU.

I'll take the empirical evidence of what actually happened on the field in determining which of those two teams is better.

What a blah ending to an otherwise very exciting game

Ironically, when Mich St punted to Wisconsin with ~2:40 to go, the commentators specifically noted that Wisconsin should play safe and not even rush the punter so they wouldn't risk a roughing/running into call.

Embellished, sure. But that was absolutely the correct call by the rules and would be called every time by every ref.

Agreed. By the book you have to make that call.

My initial "eye test" told me it was acting. The replay showed very clear contact.

:D

NO it isn't! Are you 14 years old and this your first nighttime game experience?

Refs refuse to make the call on the fake punter act on a weekly basis.

Dabo now looking like a genius for his SC rant. They will say it fired up his team. He would be hammered if they lose.

It's hilarious at how Clemson is getting the last laugh on a team that hammered them by by 21. Clemson's Head Coach goes on a rant about South Carolina that was pretty accurate (which is something that kills South Carolina fans LOL) and then they go on and clinch a birth in the Orange Bowl, while South Carolina will probably be shipped off to the Peach Bowl for a 2nd straight year.

Regardless of what happens, I just hope toolbags like Dickie V stop using the tragic Oklahoma State plane crash as a reason for their loss to Iowa State. It's wrong, it's unfortunate, and it belittles the efforts of the Cyclones.

I'm not saying I would vote Bama ahead of LSU or anything because LSU did win and results are what matter. I just think more times than not Bama would beat LSU. I think Wake is better than Syracuse even though Wake lost that game.

I think we can agree that a sample size larger than 1 is necessary to truly decide which team is actually the best.

Agreed 100% on that count.

College football in it's current form will always only give you a sample size of 1, except for the cases where teams get a rematch for their conference title.

We work with what we're given, which is a small sample size.

ESPN is still talking about it like LSU-Bama rematch is already locked in. And I dont' know, it might be - the number of voters that would need to flip their vote might be insurmountable for OSU. But it would be hilarious if it ended up being OSU and ESPN had to eat their words.
