Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz OUT!

He shattered the program.

You really think so? If you had to point to one cause of how awful we are right now, you'd point to him? I guess a lot of people would, but I'd still point to the uncanny loss of talent we had before anything else.

Which talent? Seniors graduating and good players going pro isn't "shattering" a program. That's just what programs do. Nobody was calling Wake a shattered program in April 2010.

Oh, ok. I don't know anything about Guthridge.

Ph had a good response. I took the "Bz is old" line to be about his lack of a future, but it's really about his mediocre past. It's a good point, but it still doesn't weigh against his ability to drag a shattered program back to the middle. He has done that a number of times, I think. I hope he does it with us--and we land a home-run hire.

Wait, I gotta tweet about this.. Did our basketball team really lose to Wofford at home!? This is a dream or a horrible joke!!

Yeah, I was talking about Woods, Stewart, Terrell, Tabb, and Walker (who I consider a lost talent even though he's still on the team). With the exception of Tabb, who never got off the ground, they're all highly athletic players with very high ceilings. With the exception of Terrell, they're all rebounders. We should have benefited from them all last year, yet we got only Terrell, with (we know now) serious off-the-court problems. I wouldn't say we benefited from Stewart. We should have them all but Woods this year (and not as freshmen), yet we only have Walker, who is only now learning to play college basketball. They we all great recruits with tons of potential, and we lost them all. That's what I meant when I said "shattered" (also including the embarrassing reasons we lost them all---Walker included).

I don't like Bz and I think he made a ton of mistakes last year that made what was already going to be a terrible season much worse. But I'd still say the loss of talent is primarily why we fell so far.

Sorry DV7, can't see your picture at work.

They left after Bz took over.

I know, though Woods and Walker could be argued. I don't want to get into speculation about why they left and how much of it was Bz's fault. Certainly neither 0% nor 100%.

ETA: Think about this. Take Terrell, Stewart, Tabb, Woods, and Walker and sub out any one of them for a PG--let's say Fields. I think that team would compete with us right now. We'd get outrebounded 2:1, and none of our current players are fast enough to guard Terrell. So we basically lost a starting five that could beat our whole team right now. That's uncanny.

It wasn''t shattered until Buzz got hold of it.

Exactly! That's Buzz's leadership ability in a nutshell.

Wait, what? Are you seriously arguing that the shitty players that left the team and played the worst basketball in Wake history would beat our current team who is playing much better then they ever did and have already eclipsed their win total for all of last year?

Seriously some people should be forced to sit through a JTT/Ari game last year when they write stuff like this. Those games were layup drills. Even if JTT and Air "lit it up" they were giving up 50 points combined on defense.

None of our players are fast enough to guard Terrell? Are you kidding? That kid has NO handle. You really think he'd beat CJ?

Yes, hands down... I like CJ and feel sorry for the shitty hand he's been dealt (Buzz), but JTT would have become something really special at Wake with the right leadership. I hope that he can fulfill his potential at USC.

I'm not talking about a JTT who quit on his team, takes a year off, rides the bench for a year and then maybe comes close to reaching his potential under a coach who is big into discipline and doing things the right way. I hope that happens and wish him the best.

I'm talking about right now, in his current form, those lineups. I mean, they played actual games for an actual season last year. They were simply horrible. JTT has huge glaring fundamental holes in his game and is nowhere close to the player CJ is right now. Ari versus McKie is a laugher, McKie would destroy him. Any point guard we'd throw them would still be worse than Chennault. The entire claim really just calls out our frontcourt and takes a current roster player in Ty and pairs him with Woods who is a weird player to throw in anyway because he got tossed for beating his baby-mama, not for basketball stuff.

Even without Ty were far better than last year, and worlds better than last year's team minus CJ and McKie.

What a ridiculous post.

The right leadership?

No player on the team bought into [Redacted]'s teaching more than JTT last season. The only people who didn't see that are the ones, like you, who have no interest in anything positive.

Well, it wasn't a Buzzout post. It was intended to be a defense of him for having to deal with what I consider an uncanny loss of talent.

And I was attempting to show that the talent we lost over the past couple years (including Ty, which you can argue if you want) could compete with our current roster. It shouldn't, for the reasons you mention, but we came within inches of losing to High Point and actually lost to Wofford. If we could lose to those teams, then we could lose to the talent we lost (not a whole game, obviously--i'm talking about while they're on the floor). I'm simply trying to highlight how unusual it is to lose that much talent and potential.

Worse than a troll is a troll who knows absolutely nothing about basketball. The 2010 "defection five" may outrebound "2011," but they would lose by double digits with 20+ turnovers and sub-40% FG, sub-30% 3FG, and 60% FT.

The wonderful thing about the internet is that there's a search function, where you can see what Melvin and Tony are currently up to, where you can search Ari and JTT's efficiency numbers, and where you can watch youtube clips (and through Synergy, actual game clips) to validate or substantiate your analysis.

Silly troll. Your making my bargain-bin "Seal" by Seal comp look generous...

Fields, Terrell, Stewart, Tabb, Woods- Coached by Dino

Chennault, Harris, Mckie, Nikita, Desrosiers- Coach by Bzz

Who would win?

Ish, Hale, LD, Swinton, Visser coached by Prosser would wipe the floor with both of them.

I was at the game and I looked at the bench and see Ty Walker, Anthony Fields and Daniel Green as options to put in. Not much help there to choose from.

Maybe Bzz should have thought of that when he decided to recruit them. Or when he decided to leave an unfilled scholarship for this year.
