Thursday Night TV Thread

Wife and I watched thursday's office today. It was un-good. I think my wife actually likes the show better without Carrell (she's just not a big fan of his) but she thought this week was terrible.

So it sounds like 30 Rock has been renewed for a shortened 13-episode final season.

The fates of Parks and Rec and Community are still uncertain... I found one article that said they're also both getting 13 episode final seasons, and another that said Parks and Rec is getting a full renewal, and still another that said one of the two is going to be cancelled outright.

Fuck you, NBC.

I would sacrifice Community for Parks and Rec. Hopefully it isn't an either/or scenario.

if Parks and Rec doesn't get fully renewed i will lost my shit

if not enough people are watching your network, canceling one of the best comedys (if not the best) on tv is not a way to get people to watch. you've got to come up with some new ways to get people on board

Maybe that skinny chick with that shitty show can come back. I'm happy I forgot the name of it.

Highlights from the evening:

Winterfell as a destination for Andy and April. Also the islands in "Kokomo", in order.

Before tonight, I never made the connection that the ambiguously gay senator from "The Office" was Claire's dad from "Heroes".

Knope wins! Curious how exactly they intend to handle the fact she's an elected official of the City that employs her, but it's tv. None of this election stuff has ever made sense.

I'd be fine with 13 episodes of P&R, 30 Rock and Community. Most of my favorite shows only have 10-13 episode seasons (FX, HBO, AMC). Seems like the overall quality is generally better when they're not having to come up with 22 episodes.

Officially dropped the Office from my DVR 3 weeks ago. I'd watched every episode since the pilot, but just don't find it funny or entertaining anymore.

anyone else still watching Awake? great episode tonight. seems like they are setting up for a series finale

That's funny. I've got the last 3 episodes of The Office on my DVR and I don't plan to watch them. I did see Elle Kempel (the secretary from The Office) on Fallon. Very cute but very annoying.

Great ep of Parks & Rec. Would be a shame if it doesn't come back.

I've missed a few eps of Awake. Shame it didn't get more traction. Great concept and every ep I've watched has been very good. Thinking about it a little more, it's the only hour drama I watched this season.

The Office has been, IMO, pretty bad for the past 3 seasons, but adding the British lady was the final straw for me.

yeah that bitch succccks. it was so stupid how she was just like "I'm the manager" and Spader was just like "sure ok"

I'm still watching, will watch the latest episode soon. I get that they had to have him stay to create drama with the people trying to get rid of him, but I thought it would have been cool to put pressure on his dreams by having him half in Oregon and half in LA.

Or maybe it's his subconscious creating reasons to stay in LA.

We at least know the baby is real. I'm trying to think of ways they can resolve the story without saying which dream is real.

I didn't get to watch last week's ep. How do you know the baby is real?

SPOILER ALERT

Not sure this will spoil anything, just being careful.

Because the baby exists in both worlds, right? We've confirmed it for sure in the world with his wife, and his son said it was true in the world with his son. So unless the son is lying about it and the son's world is the real one, it's real.

Everybody except the wife and son exist in both worlds. What I'm saying is the son is real and the wife is the dream, the baby was made up in the dream in order to fit reality.

I guess we agree.

Parks and Rec just got a full 22 episode renewal after all.

in the world with the son alive Rex says that Emma lost the baby where as in the world with his wife, Emma is still pregnant. but Michael knew to go check with Emma because he found out from his son that he had gotten her pregnant right before the accident
