Do Infants Belong In Movies?

This is silly. If you're going to a Tuesday at 1:00 showing 2 or 3 weeks after the movie comes out, you know there's not going to be many people there.

Good sensible post.

We've taken my 3 year old to the last 3 Pixar movies on opening night, Toy Story 3 at 1, Cars 2 at 2, and Brave at 3. He did pretty well at Toy Story 3. He sat in our laps and watched the first part of the movie, took a short nap in the middle, and watched the end. Didn't have to leave and change him at all. Now it's one of his favorite movies.

He sat at the edge of his seat for Cars 2 and behaved very well. Thankfully, he hasn't wanted to see that again.

He got a little chatty and squirmy during Brave. He asked questions about the characters. Hilariously, about 2/3 of the way through, he got up out of his chair and said, "OK, let's go!" and started walking out. He just didn't like the movie that much.

What gets me about these movie threads is the seeming inability of Pit posters to just sit down and watch a freaking movie. It blows my mind how some of you get distracted by every little thing going on around you. On one hand, it's "Oh the movie's too loud for infants" but somehow a child crying somehow ruins it for you. The movie is on a huge screen yet people are bothered by others' cell phones. I don't go to a ton of movies, but I can't remember ever been distracted the way you all are.

So I agree with most of your post but the thing is, after I pay $37 to see a movie with some popcorn and a coke, I don't want to hear crying babies. I realize that is a risk at a children's movie but it shouldn't be at an adult flick.

I DO NOT think I am special in anyway, but I do occasionally feel like I need some me time sorry for that.

i understand the need for "me time." even unmarried and without kids i still realize that "me time" is necessary. but how is it me time if you take your kid with you?

Because you're dragging the kid to do something you want to do as opposed to dragging yourself to do something the kid wants to do.

Yeah if I'm in a kids movie and there is a kid in there crying that's my own fault. Adults movies shouldn't have kids in them.

I think its funny PH's kid hated Brave and left.

I always try to sit next to babies. They never finish their popcorn.

To be honest, my niece went to see Brave, she is like 2.5 and she was telling me about it and I was like "That can't be right...." but then I looked up the plot online and it was...

I have no idea why parenting threads are such a hot topic on this board. But I loooooove the ensuing train wrecks

phdeac, serious question, are you one of the DC deacs? If so, do you or your babymama spend any time on DCUM? I think you would enjoy it, and Bethesda.

I'm there one or two times a year.

Do you have jamesda on ignore? And I generally agree with Toogs, I'm just not being as much of a dickass about it. Then again, trying to get a toddler to do something is pretty difficult. If I see a parent yelling at a kid I'm like " what did that little hellspawn do?"

No. I don't understand how this is even a question. When you become a parent, you have to always think of the child's interest first. Anyone who says otherwise is mistaken.

Man, you people don't know me at all.

Redheads >>>>>> mousey brunettes >>>>> older blondes

You love you some Amy Duncan, don't lie.

Where do black chicks fall on the scale? Are we including black chicks?

What if the child is really, really interested in mountain dew, chainsmoking, and online video game leagues?
