I agree that Clapp was the weak spot on the line, but we saw from Vaughan / Russell / Elmonus that the depth behind him wasn't any good, either. OT recruiting has been poor and that room has hurt from early attrition, too. The pipeline on the interior is much better, but the tackles ... woof.

Peter Millar is better when you're 50+ and hiding a gut. Not a huge fan of the fit. I've liked the cut on Travis Mathew / Rhoback / Johnny O a lot better.

Other concern with Kern is durability. Him getting hurt against VT had a huge impact on the season, and he's still rail thin.

I mean, he had ~350 yards and 4 TDs as a fringe starter. Can't imagine they didn't see him as a starter next season, with the likely attrition of (at least some of) Morin, Banks, Greene, and Key. He didn't have the year we expected, but was much more impactful than Nolan Groulx, for example.
