If you have a lot of time on your hands, go out to the Hoover Dam and or the Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon south rim is around a 5 hour drive. Hoover Dam as I recall is maybe about an hour.

The Los Suenos resort is really nice. You can stay at the Marriott or rent a condo in the complex there. Massive fishing area, not far from Jaco, if that is your scene. Plenty of tours of rainforest, crocs, zip lining. Only about 1.5 hours from San Jose.

Also look at Costa Rica, can get some pretty good deals there as well.

Global Entry is the shit. Through customs in 90 seconds, saves valuable time when coming through JFK, LAX, MIA, ATL.

And participation is declining rapidly as well.

Really like my Shun knifes. I have a huge set, probably have used most of them in different situations. The chef's knife is the most common, but like the vegetable cleaver, great for cutting asparagus broccoli and the such.
