2019 NFL Season Thread Year 100. Superbowl LIV Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

Skins are such a boring-ass, lifeless franchise. O-Line is terrible. And trying to save your job with Case Keenum is...something.

Can’t believe they changed that call.

He definitely re-gathered it after picking up the first foot.

I’m not mad though

A reminder:

Washington’s struggles on “Monday Night Football," especially at home, have been well-documented. The Redskins are 2-16 at FedEx Field on Monday night since the stadium opened in 1997 and 6-23 on Monday night overall during that span. Washington’s 23 losses and .207 winning percentage on “Monday Night Football” since 1997 are both league worsts.

So only 4-7 on the road, then. Not too shabby.

Everytime I turn into MNF from Washington, it seems like 1/3rd (if not more) of the crowd is cheering for their opponents....I guess that is partly due to the home team playing so badly over that stretch (2-16, woof!)

And also DC is like Charlotte or Atlanta in that so many people who live there aren’t from there

The only dude in the NFL smaller than Dortch had 3 TDs.

Since Danny boy took ownership, Washington has been a dumpster fire from the top down.

20,000 name waiting list for season tickets? Gone.
Sellouts by season ticket holders? Gone.
Tarps over thousands of seats to reduce capacity? Yup.
Parking $50 per game? Yup.
Parking a looooong way from stadium? Yup.
Incompetent management? Yup.
Bad free agent signings? Yup.
Poor to mediocre teams on the field? Yup.

You get the idea. After 20 years of stewardship, Snyder has managed to alienate so many fans that there are no longer enough to fill the stadium.

Danny is a textbook negative case that the team is a reflection of their owner. And I mean textbook literally, like B-school students will read about Danny and how not to run a team, and then devise ways to recover.

Snyder has ruined the franchise.

The Redskins ruled Washington for decades. Longest sell-out streak in the NFL. Now, no one cares.

At Fed Ex, currently common for opposing fans to out-number Skins fans; at last year's finale against the Eagles, Philly fans outnumbered Skins fans 2 to 1. Among the issues is that the Stadium was haphazardly built when Jack Kent Cooke got into a dispute with DC Government about building a new stadium, and as a result, Cooke picked a miserable location in PG County MD that isn't accessible by public transportation; Snyder than raped the fans for years by over-charging for parking/concessions/ticket prices (Snyder even sued fans that tried to cancel their season tickets) and by not adding in infrastructure to allow reasonable ingress and egress. Over the years, a terrible team, a truly awful game day experience and the pervasive feeling that the ownership was only interested in bleeding the fanbase of their discretionary income led people to stop going to games in droves. With another obviously awful season here, the Redskins won't be able to draw 40K (in an 80K stadium) to its home games the rest of the way.

Snyder desperately needs a new Redskins stadium in DC, but because of the ill will that he has created (and the PC concerns about the team name), the City and the Federal Government is not about to offer public money to assist. Snyder has tried to cozy up to the Trump Administration to include funding for a new stadium on the old RFK site, but Snyder is too toxic even for Trump, and that is saying something.

Serious question... Why doesn’t he just sell the team? He’d surely make money and the franchise would be in better hands.

Is Snyder a descendant of the captain of the Titanic?
