America Is Not For Black People - Greg Howard

A deadspin article that is pro-black people? Caturday must be so pissed

... not sure what that has to do with the journalists and the cops trying to keep video from getting out?

In tjmd's world, because some random people might have done something wrong, the cops can attack innocent journalists.

Of course this is kind of weird, because tjmd is so virulently opposed to the "coercion" of the tax laws but has no problems trying to muddy the waters to justify cops denying reporters their 1st Amendment rights.

In tjmd's world nobody denies anybody any constitutional right and the police protect business owners from looters. It's s weird world.

What is for black people? Canada?

Clearly you've never been a black guy at a GOP Meeting. The most popular guy in the room.

Also, author of the original article needs to read up on the statistics of police shoot/kills vs. criminal/shoot/kills. The threat for young males ain't the men and women in blue.

Threat for young males isn't the men and women in blue, it's the criminals the men and women in blue fail to stop.

Great logic, Go.

The community doesn't sponsor and subsidize the violent criminals you're talking about, and these random killers weren't entrusted to protect the community.

If Ford has a massive recall of explosive fuel injectors because my truck blows up, Ford isn't going to deflect blame by putting out a press release saying "You need to be worrying about drunk drivers on the road, because they kill a lot more people than explosive fuel injectors"

The point is, institutionalized racial prejudice in law enforcement is a seperate issue from civilian violent crime, and they both deserve attention. Any attempt to deflect attention from one to the other is a blatant disservice to society, and it's generally a nefarious attempt to underplay racial inequality.

i'd argue that with greater harmony with police greater harmony would come in the black community itself. hence the push for community policing and drug reform that SHOULD help communities attack the blight with in (not a cure as there's a ton more needed for that, but it's a start).

I definitely agree, people who don't trust police don't report as much crime, and they don't cooperate with them.

also the epidemic of petty drug crime creating career criminals would largely be avoided.
