According to D.C. police data, the District’s 2021 homicides are outpacing last year’s. As of Monday, there have been 111 reported homicides. At this time last year, there were 108.

Crime is up slightly, but so is police funding. We’ve never given cops more resources. Adjusted for inflation police funding it up 175% during my lifetime.

Maybe we should stop hiring such shitty cups. Maybe more cops is the problem. Maybe we should hire social workers and community health advocate, and not a bunch of uneducated cosplayers who don’t seem to be doing jackshit to lower crime.
