Republicans know that the Dems are fighting them for that group of like 30k shithead Cuban grandpas in south florida, so by baiting them with the socialism tag they can push Biden to the right on south american foriegn policy and make him say dumb saber rattling imperialist shit during the debates, like say calling Maduro a dictator and calling his election illegitimate.
 
Its naive as hell to not realize that Democrats get manipulated when they chase Republican votes - those votes arent free.

value is a relative term. There are a million things that Biden could do as a candidate to win the election, to win certain constituencies. You would object to a lot of those things, as would I. We just disagree on the things we object to
 
I dont agree with a lowest common denominator, anti-ideological win at all costs political strategy, even with Donald Trump as the opponent.
 
what I don't quite understand from the moderate Dems on here is what they consider to be an appropriate means for progressives to advance their pursuit of universal healthcare, environmental regulations, etc.

if their advice is to shut up and vote for the Democrats because the alternative is worse, what are the times and places for pushing for these things?
 
The RNC doesnt even have a platform, its all Trump. They are completely free to define the terms of the election based on the desperation of the Democratic Party. All of their rhetoric is aimed at juicing turnout.

So you don't think Biden actually believes Maduro is a dictator who gained power through an illegitimate election. You think that's just fighting the socialist label.

Thats a good question that I actually considered bringing up. As a voter, I have to decide whether to give good faith to Biden that the decisions he makes that I disagree with are A. forced upon him, or B. his own preference.
The results are the same, but the difference is that he could be dishonestly using the Republican party to cover for his own self interest.
