Imagine a Dem today trying to implement the new deal
You can argue that the only thing that gave FDR and the Democrats enough power in Congress to enact the New Deal was the Great Depression. Without that epic economic disaster Hoover would likely have been re-elected and the Republicans would have kept control of Congress. The historical periods when Democrats have actually been able to enact significant amounts of progressive legislation are rather small, and it usually requires some major disruptions in the economy or society for them to do so.

Say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it’s an ethos

“…Under that lower court decision, a protest organizer faces potentially ruinous financial consequences if a single attendee at a mass protest commits an illegal act.

It is possible that this outcome will be temporary. The Court did not embrace the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit’s decision attacking the First Amendment right to protest, but it did not reverse it either. That means that, at least for now, the Fifth Circuit’s decision is the law in much of the American South…”

Basically anyone who organizes a demonstration or rally in any of those states can be held liable in civil court for any damage or violence that occurs, even if it’s commited by counter protestors.

"pro-american" and "anti-american" are dumb phrases in 2024 because "pro-american" has been adopted by MAGA dipshits, and if you don't agree with those dipshits then you are "anti-american"
I think my feelings about the US is best expressed by James Baldwin in Native Son, when he said, "I love America more than any other country in this world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually."

I think my feelings about the US are best expressed by Marle Haggard in Fightin' Side of Me, when he said:

I hear people talkin' bad about the way we have to live here in this country
Harpin' on the wars we fight, an' gripin' 'bout the way things oughta be
An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides, an' standin' up for things they believe in
When they're runnin' down my country, man
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me
Runnin' down a way of life our fightin' men have fought and died to keep
If you don't love it, leave it
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'
When you're runnin' down my country, man
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

I read about some squirrely guy who claims he just don't believe in fightin'
An' I wonder just how long the rest of us can count on bein' free
They love our milk an' honey, but they preach about some other way of livin'
When they're runnin' down my country, hoss
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me
Runnin' down a way of life our fightin' men have fought and died to keep
If you don't love it, leave it
