This is what impressed me the most. It doesn't seem like Fischer can be distracted. He plays focused, under control, takes good shots, and makes smart passes. He's a guy I can't wait to see progress throughout the years.

As great as it was to see him hit so many shots, what kept him on the floor was his defense.

He did a fantastic job in man and an even better job in the zone, making a couple key rotations and getting at least one huge steal. 31 minutes and he still had legs by the end pulling down a couple big rebounds.

He took exactly one questionable 3 that was a little hurried, but even it looked like it was going down. Just a fantastic game - add his defense and shooting percentage to his 13 points (and that awesome drive and pass to Chennault that got McKie a layup at the end) and it's probably the equivalent of JTT going for 20+.
 
I'll gladly take Chase over JTT all day every day. JTT may end up being a better player but Chase plays within himself, takes good shots, plays defense, and is a much better teammate.

True. He hurried one shot but it was a solid look. Did not take bad shot. Our % in 2nd half must have been strong.

Off the top of your heard, is there ANYTHING JTT does better than Chase on the court? Celebrations? Dumb plays? Better shooter, more assists, way less turnovers, more minutes, more steals, better defense, better player off the ball. No contest!
 
JTT is more athletic than Chase. But I don't think he did any tangible thing on the court better last year.

I agree with you, JTT is a better athlete and if he has an attitude adjustment and gets good coaching he could be very good. But in their current forms Chase is a much better player than JTT. That is why I said he may be a better player.

Yes, JTT had more plays that made you think, "Damn he's a really athletic ball player," while Chase has had more plays that make you think, "Damn he's a really smart ball player."

I don't think Chase's ceiling is probably as high, but untapped potential is irrelevant.

I friggin' love Chase Fischer. That kid is certainly much better than I could have ever imagined.
