Chat Thread, in which numerous #olds discuss #mattresses

Got in an argument with my mother last night during our Mother's Day call. Predictable.
 
All this mattress talk reminds me of the time I went furniture shopping with my buddy Phil Castlethorpe.

Phil was getting divroced and we needed to find somethign that would allow him to sow his oats. So we wtnt to this place in the valley that claimed to specialized in cheap secondhand furniture.

We were looking around and there were a tone of hot girls in there - we thought they were salesepeople. Phil started asking pricing questions to one of them and she giggled and said she wasn't sure, but she offered him a bunch of free shots while we looked around.

About this time I realized that this was the front office of a porn operation. All of the furniture was "secondhand" because it was USED in the porn business in the back.

I was ready to get the hell out, but Phil wanted to have a few drinks and see if he could meet a porn starlet. About this time Jimmy Hawn (Goldie's brother) walks in to see what's taking us so long. One of the "salespeople" recognized him and offered to take him in the back to show him some additional options. He said sure, but we're shopping for Phil.

So we all walk back to the back and there is porn being filmed EVERYWHERE. When you watch it on your computer it looks like it's in a house - not at this place. There are pools, kitchens, living rooms - everything.

Phil walks over to one of the sofas and sits down and the girl comes over and sits on his lap and starts taking care of him. Next thing you know she waves a friend over and they go to town on phil and Jimmy.

As they are finishing up, a guy comes over with some paperwork for phil....claims that having sex on the sofa means he has to buy it. Jimmy laughs and pays for it, so phile signs the papers and we haul the sofa out to the truck and head out.

A few weeks later, a new movie was released: "Phil My Holes"
 
My 1st period is about to watch the final scene of Glory. I'm legitimately going to have to hold back the tears. Gets me everytime.
 
Also it has been a successful first hour for your boy. I finished our final lesson plan, their final project handout and ordered flowers for the GF (today is four months) all since about 7:45. Very rare for your boy to be on it this early on a Monday.

Samesies. Chillin in slippers and comfy clothes and about to hop on a call. Got a guy coming by for our spring AC check "some time after noon today." Was assured it would be on the earlier side so hopefully that's true.

Boo on having to go back to the office tomorrow.
 
Yeah I WFH pretty much every day if I'm not on the road. I get plenty of interaction on the various calls I'm on but also get that solitude. I've been pretty good about never having the TV on or anything like that.

Well I like it a hundred times better than our old spring mattress, but puttersdeac also sleeps on this mattress and loves it, so we opted to keep it since there wasn't really a choice out there I thought I'd like better (all the other major brands are supposed to be even firmer).
 
I WFH pretty much every day when I was living in Winston. It was not for me. Probably because I lived alone and found myself lonely and sick of my apartment all the time.
 
Also I had Spurs-Warriors on in the background yesterday and fell asleep on the couch during the 4th quarter. Woke up and the Warriors had won. I just can't get into it.
 
I had to WFH the first 6 months on the job because our office was in Denver and we were in the process of moving it to DC. Defs gets lonely when you do it every day. But I like it from time to time as a nice diversion. It's fun to sit on the porch and look at the mountains and river while cranking tunes.

Oh look another email about some teacher potluck thing they want us to bring food for

I hate these things, mainly because it requires me to bring/buy something and the food is almost junky and mediocre. Can I opt out without being an asshole?
 
Seems risky. I'd just bring something that I like to eat, and if the others' casseroles and whatever blow than stick to yours.

The last time I ended up being the bowls, utensils, drinks, cups and ice guy and definitely spent more than anyone else.

plus if it's my wife's coworkers, almost everything ends up being vegetarian and gluten free all natural granola bullshit
