States as of today based on per capita deaths since that is a metric some here focus upon. These will continue to shift as some places move into their worst weeks and others start to exit.

7 Vermont (a lot of deaths for not a lot of cases)

I believe a majority of the 22 deaths came from 3 assisted living facilities in the most populous county. We're also a state with 625k people and it's the 2nd oldest (age of residents) in the country, so you get one outbreak in one vulnerable community and your rates can be high as a result.

That makes sense. We have 32 nursing homes or assisted living facilities in MN with at least one case. Seems ridiculous. But with so many people coming and going from those places in advance of the outbreak being well known I guess it is possible.

Depends on when you look. I am looking normally around 10 central PM. They reported 8 since that time yesterday.

Regardless the data is based on total deaths per population. And their last entry was 14 and is now 22.

Nope. Deaths reported at 10-11am every day. You seem to be behind.

Yeah, looks like Deacman skipped a day of reporting from DC for whatever reason. DC death totals went:

4/3 15
4/4 21
4/5 22

Biden, or more precisely the person who ghost wrote the article for him, talked about the possibility of a pandemic, not the fact and then proceeded to bash Trump. At the time China had reported hardly any dead, and not many infected. They were telling the world that it was all under control. The WHO only declared the coronavirus to be a pandemic in fact on March 11, 2020.

The ever alert Joe Biden was so concerned about the virus spreading from China to the US that he declared the travel ban to be xenophobic. Apparently, he did not think the possibility of the pandemic as being that serious.

Here is a timeline for you:

Link to Biden declaring the travel restrictions to/from China as xenophobic?

I keep seeing Republicans say Dems said the travel ban was xenophobic but I don’t remember seeing that actually happen.

sailor's post is actually the second mention of the word "xenophobic" on this thread after a reaction to Trump tweeting "Chinese Virus."

When did the travel ban happen vs airlines canceling flights to China? Seems like the latter happened quicker and was on a case-by-case basis for each airline and route.

Biden first accused Trump of xenophobia in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic on January 31, at a campaign rally in Fort Madison, Iowa -- in comments that came shortly after Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced the travel ban.
"You know we have right now a crisis with the coronavirus, emanating from China," Biden said then. "The national emergency and worldwide alerts. The American people need to have a president who they can trust what he says about it. That he is going to act rationally about it. In moments like this, this is where the credibility of a president is most needed, as he explains what we should and should not do. This is no time for Donald Trump's record of hysterical xenophobia and fear mongering to lead the way instead of science."

Nope. That’s not what that says. He is implying Trump is xenophobic. Not because of the travel restrictions (it was not a travel ban), but rather because Trump has a record of xenophobia. He appears to be saying we need a leader with credibility to lead us, not a xenophobe. There is no criticism there of the restrictions unless he is implying that the restrictions did not go far enough, only “banning” foreigners.

The USA is winning friends and influencing nations and peoples around the globe! Thank God that Trump isn't giving pretty much every other nation (except for Russia, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Israel) the impression that we've become a thug nation that doesn't give a shit about them. What a great job!
