I kind of like the idea of getting a tattoo but don’t know about committing to something permanent and my pain tolerance is very low. So probably not happening. My wife has a bunch including one of her chihuahua wearing a flower crown on her forearm.

First week at Wake I drove a girl that didn’t have a car to go get a tattoo on her ass, some people really embrace their new freedom.

In my experience paternity leave (which I didn't technically have for either kid) is more about taking care of your spouse than bonding with your kid.
Lots of truth here.

A bird man, poet, lover, caring, sage, a true renaissance man.

Creamy looks like a guy with an W tattooed on each ass check so when he bends over it says WoW... or MoM depending on what he's up to

Honestly the permanence is not that big of a deal. Unless you get one on your face or something you can cover them up. I rarely think about them anymore.

No tats here. Thought about it, but like several here, not sure what's worth committing to. Don't really like needles, either. I have no problems with people getting tatted. Dated a few women with them.

If I were to get one, it'd be Wake related; music or instrument themed; perhaps something Latin (I periodically reminded my students that if they were going for one of those, to check with me first); or maybe a snake-draped dagger on the forearm. :) Maybe a brown trout rising to a fly?

Doubt it'll happen.

That was my experience. I didn't get a lot of time off for either of my children so I tried to space it out around visits from family / in-laws so I could be available to support my spouse in times when there weren't other people in the house to do the same thing.

Need a poll. Which ogbro is most likely to have a tramp stamp?

I know one of you does.

I have a pretty low pain tolerance but didn't find the tattoos to be super painful. There was one touchy spot on my left forearm up towards the inside of the elbow (presumably where nerves are), and then with the interior bicep one I was just sweating buckets, so maybe an adrenaline thing.

Diggler looks like a guy with a giant dong tattooed on the inside of his forearm with the head in his palm. As he's shaking your hand he twists to expose his VICTORY

And happy World Poetry Day

If—

Launch Audio in a New Window
BY RUDYARD KIPLING

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Interesting. Seeing the touring version next Saturday. I've heard really good things about this Epinine. And yeah, theatrical Cosette is much better before she grows up and doesn't serve as much of a purpose as book Cosette. I need to revisit the Liam Neeson film. If I remember correctly, it brings out a lot from the novel that isn't shown in the musical - to the point that it's almost a different story like you mentioned.
this eponine was EXCELLENT, I agree.
