Deacs Soccer 2013-2014.

Losing to UVa in the ACC tournament. What a novelty.

Wake was 9th and UVA was 10th. Both teams are obviously in the NCAA Tourney. Lost on a controversial PK call in overtime 1-0

I went back and looked it up because I knew it was unbelievable, but this is amazing. UVA has ended our ACC tourney run six straight years and eleven times in the past fifteen seasons. Twice in that span they've ended both our ACC run AND our NCAA run. That's truly incredible.

On the bright side, the one time we won the national championship we beat them in the ACC tourney.

Yesterday, in the 1st round of the NCAA Mens tourney, Navy beat VCU 3-0 (WF beat VCU 2-1 in September). So, WF plays Navy on Sunday. Navy started the year 1-3-2, including a loss to St. Francis-Brooklyn. Since that start, Navy has won 15 straight with 11 shutouts.

Appreciate the info on Navy. The Wake-Navy game is Sunday at 5 pm at Spry. It might be a little cold but should be a great match-up.

Super fast game, and both teams playing well. We are definitely missing Stengel's presence up top, but we've played a couple of nice balls behind the defense. Penn State's central attacking midfielder is pretty awesome, and is running at our defense constantly -- she is seeing a lot more of the ball than Ally Berry, unfortunately.

NEED MORE Riley Ridgik.

Can't watch (sitting in the airport) but really hoping we pull out this win and get a shot at UVA-Georgetown on Sunday to make the final 8.

After the first round match, Bledsoe has now played the second most minutes for any women's goalkeeper in NCAA history. She's played in 92 games.

That little Penn State winger, #15, is smoking our entire backline.

Ridgik more on the ball so far this half. Still haven't got much going.

Man, our wingers are so slow going at defenders. They can't even successfully complete a cross.

Love our freshman striker Caroline Wootten though; she looks great, though she offers something completely different than Stengel.

Absolutely beautiful goal. Defender heads clear a cross low and out of the box and freshman Sarah Teegarden beats a defender to the ball and blasts a one-touch shot into the upper right-hand corner. First goal of her career, and couldn't have come at a better time. We've been dominating possession.

Woohoo!

Looks like it is about the 85th minute. Hold on, girls!
