I think it's +EV as long as the guards play smart.What's the incentive for guards to stay alive? I thought +ev for Pablo to kill guards so there's no way to eliminate people who can't be Pablo. Unless the guard is going to make it the whole game...I don't get why Pablo wouldn't want them all dead d1.
1) Guards can help steer the vote early on away from Pablo if necessary
2) 5-5 or 4-4 is probably more likely to happen than Pablo making it to the end and winning by himself (I did the odds earlier but given random chance at 10-1, it wasn't great).
3) Guards can cause confusion as necessary, both with normal posts but also making it look like they're trying to protect someone who isn't actually Pablo
The play for the guards though was to accept you may die, but don't give up significant info along the way. As a guard, I likely only vote for one person the entire time or ensure the person I'm voting for dies.
All that said, when you start orchestrating voting blocks, guards become a major liability.
