Lefites playing dirty (BKF should be happy)

Romney has lied throughout his career. He carpet bombs his opponents with inaccurate, false ads. He shouldn't cry about getting a little of his own medicine.

Fuck Mike Weir.

Cost Lenny Mattiace a green jacket in '03.

How is this the left playing dirty? Just release your fucking taxes, douchebag, like daddy did and everyone else has. It's pretty clear at this point that he paid little or no taxes.

Plays well for the Dems either way. If he keeps them hidden, then he's the rich guy with some skeletons he doesn't want to see the light of day. If he does release them and he's paid virtually no taxes, he's part of the 1% problem. Unless of course there's nothing to hide, in which case he's just a stubborn moron.

Other than Mitt, his family, and his campaign, nobody else in the GOP is applauding Mitt for a principled stance. Utterly ridiculous that he didn't realize a reasonable number of years (at least 5) was the price of admission in running for President. Mitt Daniels didn't want to discuss his personal life, so he didn't run-a logical move. Cain, Newt, Mitt-not so much.

Given that he ran 4 years ago, and has had 4 years where he could have made his taxes a bit more palatable for the 2012 election, he's really shat the bed on this.

Not to mention he had already submitted his tax returns in 2008 to McCain. I'm wondering if he is requiring tax returns from VP prospects.

Mitt better introduce his VP in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier since one of the first questions will be how many years of tax returns were supplied to Mitt's campaign.

This is what I don't get. Romney seems like an intelligent enough guy. You'd have thought he'd have started doing completely clean returns by at least 2006-07, when he knew he was running in 2008. Then he should have gotten a clue from the 2008 election that he better darn well have clean returns from there on out because everyone knew he was the frontrunner for 2012. Once you get your party's nomination, you know that the tradition is that you disclose this stuff. Is is just arrogance - kinda like Edwards arrogance when he ran when he was having an affair on his ill wife, like no one would ever find out?

no rules only custom. No presidential candidate in the past thirty years has put out less than six years.

It's also well known Romney gave McCain well over twenty years while being vetted for VP.

Not to mention the standard set by Romney's own father.

Part of me thinks Romney might be squeeky clean on this but is waiting for the opportune time (post convention??) to drop them. His poll numbers are doing just fine in spite of the tax return issue and he might be saving it as something to give him a bump.

Did his tax returns have anything to do with McCain not choosing him as VP?

We don't know. Supposedly, McCain wanted Lieberman.
