MBB Game 2: @ UGA - 7pm Friday - SEC Network

Sucks to lose, but it was nice to see some fight until the end. 2 more minutes and we woulda won this game.
Or our key players would've fouled out and we would've lost by 15.

Our best shot was in that 5:00 left window and we let it get back out to a 6 - 7pt game again.

Dead horse beating session, but Marsh is such a liability, can't find his man, can't rebound, can't score. Cam is awesome, but he is not the guy to make his own perimeter shot. SMH at the end of game play draws.

At least Marsh had some good moments tonight. He's just clearly a backup level guy and Keller a 3rd stringer. But Efton continues getting screwed by the NCAA.

Until Damari is back we'll really struggle to beat decent teams when both Cam and Sallis have off nights. They combined to shoot under 30%... It was almost like those two early 3's for Cam backfired and he never got back to being aggressive inside.

On the bright side, Boopie looked great and we made a great comeback run when we looked toast. It's early in the season but that looked like a pretty good UGA team.

We definitely have some good pieces especially in the backcourt. Boopie, Cam and Hunter have all flashed what they are capable of doing. Just gotta figure out how to maximize each of them and who works best together.

Marsh looked very good in the first half
Marsh looked very good for a few spurts in the first half. But he also looked like he had hands and feet made of rocks for a good portion of the first half. And that’s how he looked pretty much the whole time he was in during the second half. Those few spurts were an improvement, but I’m still pretty sure his +/- was way -.

If you are blind I can understand this comment.

The Keller turnover and the lack of any effort to try to get the ball was amazing. I couldn't believe he was still in the game after the timeout.

Marsh is a statue unfortunately. Big but doesn't move well. It seems like he could learn a few offensive moves but no evidence of that.

Can pick away at various players but the sloppiness with the ball was disgusting. And this seems to be a systemic issue bc with our chance to tie the game, Hildreth threw the most awful inbound you can imagine.

There were so many second chances opportunities we gave them because we just didn't box out. This was a problem last year too. Boxing out is a basic fundamental that most basketball players learn as a child. It is so frustrating to see this over and over.

Too many turnovers

Not enough defensive rebounding

Must improve in both areas by next weekend

I’m not even sure the final play was designed for Hildreth. It went underneath the basket and he had to dribble out to the three-point line.

I’m pretty sure what happened was not as drawn up. GA played pretty good D at the end.

We watched about 3 or 4 long rebounds roll around and made no play on them and had a couple of turnovers where we just watched the ball roll. Seemed like that was easily 5 or 6 points that we gave up for no reason.

Keller's literal walk to recover a turnover he made, only to watch a running Georgia player pick it up and score deserves special mention. That lack of effort deserved a Wake time out and an escort to the row behind the end of the bench. When you embarass your team with a lack of effort for all to see, you deserve to be publically embarassed. If he never gets off the bench this season, we will all recall why.

The problem with WFU basketball is we (and I include me in this) have to do a ton of mental gymnastics just to conclude we might be/could be/are almost good. We live 1-2 more good players or less bad plays away from "being good."

Maybe it's that stupid, repetitive Jersey Mike's commercial (which has inexplicably fucked up my vibe; I cannot adequately describe how much I hate it), but it just seems exhausting to hitch your emotional wagon to WFU basketball. ManMan pulled me back in, but I've been slipping ever since. I watched this entire game, had moments of excitement, and moments of boredom and despair. But at the end, I'm just sort of tired.

Disappointing loss….should have won that one. Hunter was off tonight. Obviously they don’t play D in England. Cam and Marsh are horendous on D. Gotta find a way to not let Parker disappear on offense. Boopie was awesome tonight and Carr is so consistent. 10 is horrible and so is Keller! Really need to get that waiver for Reid so we can be a much more balanced team. Marsh is not going to cut it all season. He’s the difference between a NCAA tourney birth or another let down season.

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that Keller turnover is one of the most baffling things I’ve seen during a basketball game. He just didn’t go get the ball. I guess he thought it was going out and could shield his body OR he thought he couldn’t pick it back up for a double dribble. But either way I need some kind of explanation because he just stood there. Immediately benched and I don’t believe came back in and that’s entirely warranted.
