If wake accepted the Independence Bowl already then it would be a gross miscalculation by the administration economically
 
VT doesn't travel. Their fans are unappreciative idiots. The OB should tip off the Sugar so it'll be Boise or K-State whose fans will be excited about the game. Unfortunately bowls aren't smart so they'll choose VT and have thousands of tickets returned.
 
Wake couldn't go to the Independence Bowl if VT went BCS.

Vt fans will travel well to NO. They'd been to Miami quite often in recent years, so it wasn't a novel trip any more. Plus, travelling to charlotte for the ACCCG likely kept travel budgets intact for most.
