OFFICIAL Conservapedia Hot Takes Thread: Oven Mitts Required

I notice that they've pre-selected the word "socialism" as a new substitute, but have no examples yet. #edgeofmyseat

The NC page needs updating

The current governor of North Carolina is Beverly Perdue, a Democrat.

Although the table on the right of the page correctly lists McCrory. But there's nothing about him, the left-libs bitching about HB2 and wanting to allow gross trannies to molest their kids, nothing.

http://www.conservapedia.com/Fantasy_football

Fantasy football is a form of gambling that is heavily promoted during NFL broadcasts, and played by an estimated 56 million Americans in 2015.[2] This game fleeces the average participant of about $500 and also alienates his attention away from his work, his family, and the Bible.[2] (!!!) The game is played as a virtual version of the football season in the NFL.

The NFL seeks to hook elementary school children on fantasy football by making it part of the math curriculum, thereby locking in the next generation of addicted television watchers of NFL games.[3] (!!!!!)

People waste a total of about $15 billion annually now on all fantasy sports in the United States, and the vast majority of that (about $11 billion) is on fantasy football based on real NFL games. This is more than the NFL's total annual revenue, which is about $10 billion. These costs do not include the lost time wasted on this gambling activity, which is probably worth even more.

but what about the jerbs it created?

Conservative seminaries are teaching Greek all the time. Shouldn't be that hard.

I guess I just thought anybody with a div school education would be too smart for this. Also, ancient greek is pretty tough, actually, and I'm not sure any div school degree is going to give you the kind of training you'd need to do a large scale translation project. They'd have to rely pretty heavily on other translations.

But since they're just making this shit up anyways, not sure it really matters.

I would offer that the distinction between divinity schools and seminaries are pretty important here. That being said, there is a tradition of evangelical seminaries doing some fairly rigorous Ancient Greek and Hebrew scholarship over the years. Now what they do with the context of the translations is a different situation altogether.

These guys should look up the word "Essay"

The word is pronounced as 'Ms. Andry,' but I wonder why we need the Greek word for it. What's wrong with good, old-fashioned man-hater?"[88]

Nice, i don't know much about that distinction. I assume you get a degree in theology from a divinity school and training for orders (or its protestant equivalent) from a seminary? To what end do they utilize that linguistic training?

RevDeac has posted some interesting close readings over the years, but i don't have the languages to properly scrutinize them. If he ever wants to talk about my boys Jerome and Wycliffe though, I'm so in.

They seem to avoid a few subjects on their Donald Trump page.

I didn't click all of the headers since I'm reading on my cell phone while riding my bike, but there's no discussion of previous relationships or policies or comments about grabbing things.

Seminaries are sectarian in nature. Usually funded by different denominations. Divinity Schools tend to be connected to universities, and while they may be, and often are, also sectarian in line with the particular religious affiliation held by the university, they have similar standards to those of the rest of the university. Seminaries tend to be a little more orthodox/conservative/etc., but that doesn't mean that they don't take seriously the study of the primary text. Just thinking about it logically, those words are the single most important tangible item in their lives, thus a seriousness of translation results. RevDeac can surely offer a lot more information and insight though.

Keep in mind RevDeac is an Episcopalian and thus, going to hell.

Lesbianism and Obesity
In 2013, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) reported that 75% of American lesbians are obese.[2][3] In April 2007, the American Journal of Public Health analyzed data from 2002 National Survey of Family Growth and the data suggested that American lesbian women were 2.69 times more likely to be overweight and 2.47 times more likely to be obese than all other female sexual orientation groups. [1] The abstract for this study indicated that "lesbians are at greater risk for morbidity and mortality linked to overweight and obesity." [1]

Divorced and remarried, she works at Fox News despite having three young children and plenty of money not to work.

She has virtually no experience in journalism and wears ridiculous false eyelashes, and yet accuses others (such as Donald Trump) of supposedly being sexist.

http://www.conservapedia.com/Geocentric_theory

When these two bodies are traveling in the same direction, (full moon phase) like cars traveling the same direction on a highway, it's easy to conclude this is how we observe the relative velocity of the moon to be 2,288 MPH. The inconsistency comes when the moon inevitably must change direction during the course of its orbit relative to Earth's orbit.[7] When the full moon and waning gibbous phases end and the moon turns and travels perpendicular to Earth's orbit (around the first quarter moon phase) consistent with relative motion theory, observers on Earth would no longer see a relative velocity of 2,288 MPH, but the actual speed of the moon, 69,288 MPH. (nearly 30X faster than the during the full moon phase) When the moon must turn again to travel in a direction opposite Earth's orbit (new moon phase) observers on Earth would view a relative velocity of (Earth 67,000 MPH) + (moon 69,288 MPH) = 136,288 MPH or nearly 60X FASTER than the full moon phase. As the two pass each other, the moon changes direction again, and thus, its relative velocity changes for observers on Earth back to 69,288 MPH as it enters the last quarter moon phase. Once again it is traveling perpendicular to Earth's orbit. It finally completes its orbit by returning to the full moon phase, and, traveling in generally the same direction as the Earth, gives observers a relative velocity of 2,288 MPH again. The problem with the Heliocentric model is there is no way the moon can exhibit all its phases for the same amount of time while its relative velocity to Earth changes drastically throughout its orbit. This has never been explained or even addressed by the Heliocentric scientific community.
