Official Diamond Deacs Thread: Wake sweeps Clemson; ACCT starts Wednesday

Jesus Christ Matt Conway broke his knee cap in our only win this weekend? That is going to make it extremely tough for us to make the NCAA tournament.
 
I'm sure this was covered in another baseball thread, but what happened to Stadler?
 
KJ was 0-5 last night with at least 2 strikeouts (didn't get there until the 4th). Last night was such a sloppy game on both sides between dropped foul balls, multiple errors and countless walks. HPU walked in 4 of our runs in the bottom of the 9th. Some of the walks were due to a very odd strike zone (I was directly behind all of the scouts and there was a lot of chatter going back and forth about the poor calls). Walter made really good pinch hitting calls and the guys never gave up despite being down 5 runs.
 
UMBC, Cincy, and Georgetown this weekend. How about a sweep to get back on track?
 
Two convincing wins and good starting pitching performances from Van Grouw and Cooney.
 
Holmes bringing some good stuff today. He's got an arm on him, solid fastball and is tough to hit.
 
What's the deal with Maryland? They stunk last year, and here they are 4-1 with a series win at UCLA.

Bakich was a great hire. Its early but it seems like his recruiting is finally starting to show and get results.
 
Holmes is done. 6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 6 K, 2 BB. 5-0 Deacs headed to top 7.
 
Holmes had good stuff today. No runs allowed through 11 innings this year and he should be 2-0.
 
Nice to see them get back on track this weekend after the rough start.
