Finally a Zaxby's (almost) in Winston! One opened up by Walmart on University
Had PDQ's tonight - first night opened, I placed my order and when they rung it up (about $16 for two) they told me tonight was free - apparently a staff training/dry run deal. They won't start charging until the officially open Sunday, she said. Not sure if they're doing the same tomorrow.
We really like it, kind of a cut above Zax.

krispy kreme building a store in clemmons..that is dangerous for me and the people living in davie county
I went to PDQ tonight. Staff was really friendly and I got to eavesdrop as they told another family all of the restaurant background.. I enjoyed what I got, too. I love a condiment so I look forward to trying all of their sauces.
Something like that would only be a go in the premier triad city.this is exciting news for Greensboro. Hope Tim can pull it off, he's one heck of a chef. Didn't know he had left Marisol.

Thompson, the former executive chef at Marisol, won last year’s Fire in the Triad competition, the area’s premier cooking showdown. And though he left Marisol in September, Thompson said it will likely be two years before his new restaurant comes to fruition.
“We’re not in a real big hurry,” he said. “We’re kind of trying to time it with a lot of the growth downtown.”
Wife and I are thinking of taking a long weekend in April to tour some NC wineries and hit up some barbecue spots. We have 4 nights...thinking of staying near Lexington (maybe at the HI Express near Childress) for two nights, then need a second for two nights. We've been to Shelton, Raylen, and Hanover Park in NC. What other ones are recommended?
Also, any good nice restaurants around the wine country?
