Wake @ Duke - 3:30 PM ESPN2/ACCN

This team missed Mustapha a lot during the month of November. I also think that we desperately need to recruit a kickoff specialist that can kick the damn ball out of the end zone every single time. That is worth a scholarship. Would be nice if he could be a backup punter & long FG kicker.

Clawson sounded like an exhausted, exasperated coach post game. In fact, he said as much with his "tired" comment and he's also giving the team some time off here now to recharge before the bowl announcement.

Clawson couldn’t come out of the bye and get the best out of this team for the last six games. He’s got to be wondering how he can motivate them for a bowl game.

I just can’t wait for the “Ahh jeeze” talking points, when we know o-line, defense, and special teams sucked all game.

I’m sure we’ll come out pretty motivated. I just hope we aren’t close or losing in the fourth quarter.
 
The one word to describe this year’s team is ‘complacent’. They (including coaches) thought they were good enough to play with the big boys. Rather than adjust offensively, defensively, and special teams-wise, they crumpled like a can. I am grateful for all that Hartman has done, but he’s no Heisman candidate. Until Clawson comes to the grips of reality, Wake will just be like NC State……so close, but yet so very far.
 
Kind of crazy that Clawson says he thought the secondary would be a position of strength for us coming into the season, and it was maybe our worst unit.

While it sounds good, actually I thought it was just coachspeak. When questioned about individual plays ( like Les asking about passing on 3rd and 2) Clawson staunchly defends his coaching decisions and blames player execution.
