WF at SYRACUSE, Saturday 3:30 ESPN2

This is completely inaccurate in 2021. Have you ever thought we recruit just fine because your perception is off?

Radio up here all week has been making fun of Winston Salem and it’s ticked me off. I loved my visits there. I think everyone loves to say every city not there’s is a dump

You are wildly inaccurate in your assessment. I hope you give the city a shot again. We’ve had quite a revitalization

Relax, I'm just messing with you. Upstate NY is nice, especially in summer. I'm sure Cuse has areas I'd like to visit but I did take some scary detours on my first trip to the campus. And there are definitely areas of Winston I wouldn't recommend to visitors. Heck, there are areas of Winston a ten-minute walk from the Wake campus I wouldn't recommend to visitors.

Can we get back to football where we discuss the below average QB that runs the Syracuse attack. And the fact his best receiver quit because he knew that fact.

Quasi-native western New Yorker here (though Cuse is central NY). The Finger Lakes region is amazing.

Carry on.

i would NOT put syracuse on a shitty cities list. It's a little dated in terms of architecture, but it feels like a smaller philly to me. i'd rather live in Syracuse than Greensboro for sure.

Not in the winter

Mandel picked Cuse as his upset special citing their YPP defense. That said they've played FSU, Ohio, Rutgers and Albany (+ Liberty as lone "good" win). Not exactly a murderers row of offenses and to my knowledge none of those teams are remotely competent throwing the ball (with exception of Liberty and they went for nearly 400 yards but shot their own foot with missed FG, 4th down stuff on goal line and late fumble). i'm sure their D is decent but i'll need convincing that we're facing the 85 bears here. Tucker looks to be a handful but IMO strong run game is a much better match up for our D than a fun and gun passing attack (i.e. UNC).

If you’re coming in Friday, I’d 100% recommend eating at dinosaur BBQ for lunch or dinner. It’s a Cuse staple. https://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/syracuse/

Then walk about 5 minutes to Armory Square area. Lots of restaurants, shops and bars. This is all downtown Syracuse, not campus

Gameday, you should head to campus and walk along Marshall st for more shops, restaurants, etc. head up to the quad for tailgating. The dome serves all sorts of alcohol. Booze, beer and wine. And we just upgraded the dome with AC and better food choices

It will be dry Saturday but cool. Mid 60’s.

Also, 30 minutes east of Cuse is turning stone resort and casino. One of the biggest casino resorts in the Northeast. Tremendous place for gambling, golf, food and music

Thank you sir.

8 in the box. Dude sucks as a passer.

Yep. And dude will lob some passes downfield that we need to make sure and just knock down - don't get pass interference calls. Be smart. That's the only way they can sustain drives - penalties on us. Don't give them that momentum.

Our defensive backs, safeties will be key since our front 7/8 will likely stuff their running game.

Dino is good. I’ve been to multiple locations. I think most bbq places do a bad job with wings, but they have great wings.

a--This week’s Upset Special: No. 19 Wake Forest (-6) at Syracuse, 3:30 p.m., ESPN2
Unbeknownst to anyone outside of central New York, 3-2 Syracuse boasts the nation’s No. 18 defense (4.5 YPP). Two weeks ago at the Carrier Dome, they knocked off Liberty and its projected first-round QB Malik Willis. Sam Hartman and the Demon Deacons are potent, but hardly unbeatable.

Syracuse 30, Wake Forest 27
Pick: Syracuse +6

b--This week’s Upset Special: No. 19 Wake Forest (-6) at Syracuse, 3:30 p.m., ESPN2
Cuse just lost to winless FSU and Wake’s undefeated at 5-0, and yet here we are, seeing visions of Dino Babers delivering another rousing locker room celebration postgame after a big upset. Babers’ run game is legitimate, having rushed for 225 yards or more in four of five games, and Wake is coming off a game where it allowed over 200 against Louisville.

Syracuse 23, Wake Forest 21
Pick: Syracuse +6

^ like for real i don't get it. they just lost to a terrible, winless FSU team that we destroyed? is this just a LOWF thing?

Mandel also is predicting us in the Peach against Ohio St, so either he thinks we'll still win the ACC or he's gone back on that.

I don't share this confidence. UL went for 5 per carry last week. Sean Tucker is legit.

I think a key will be to have Miles Fox back. Really hoping he can suit up

This - Also some people here must have short memories as our defense has a frustrating history of making bad to mediocre QB's look good and good QB's look like Heisman candidates.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure our defense isn't really mediocre.

Yeah. Sorry. I got a little over protective there. Haha
