After going 10+ years with no avatar, I chose one when I had the ability to create a custom title. Since then I've changed about 2-3 times, including H. Jon Benjamin.

This avatar, to answer the OP question, is the Cyberdemon, the main boss from Doom. I just happened to be in an old school video game frame of mind one day and was reminiscing fondly on how cool this cat was at the time.
